joe43wv
If he burned it on his machine, have him try finalizing the disc, most of the time that fixes the issue.
ripken204
what does putting it in his pc do...?and just look at the disc, you can tell if there is something written on it.
colore
putting it in his pc shows the filesI will tell him to finalize the CD, although I wouldn't like to finalize it, isn't there a way to read a non-finalized CD?the CD appears with no files and the properties are these:can you check from the properties that it is not finalized?by the way I noticed that the disc is DVD-RW !! but as above it appears as CD Edited July 6, 2009 by colore
Ponch
by the way I noticed that the disc is DVD-RW !! but as above it appears as CD... You can't read a DVD-RW in a CD drive. If that is the case (always be careful when stating the obvious ).

If that is the case (always be careful when stating the obvious ).this is not the problem, since the drive reads everything, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW, etc
mara-
I had this problem with some previous drives. I just had to re-inset the disc until I get the files to show. There is two things here: You may try updating firmware of your drive, or your drive is failing (which was my case).Cheers Edited July 7, 2009 by mara-
