liquid0624 Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 Does anyone know which package to remove to allow deletion of the files in the sources folder (manual setup)?Even then vLite gives you a new file in that folder install_Windows 7 ULTIMATE.clg so I am sure you have to keep that at least (and of course the 2 WIM files)?I got errors removing all those packages last time, but then I was using the dead0 bat file and its not for 7600.If you only have to remove one package that allows those files in the sources folder to be removed, which package?only things needed are install.wim boot.wim and setup.exe and remove Manual Install using vLite that's it and the setup.exe from the original image in the sources folder
pher Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Liquid, I'm starting to remove stuff one by one to try and work my way up to your Ultra settings to figure out what's making bluetooth not work. Go buy a keyboard so you have a reason to figure it out =D

You mean the sources folder itself needs setup.exe putting in?I have no setup.exe on the root and no autorun.inf either. Just setup.exe in sourcesIt does work now after using vLite to take out manual setup. EDIT: Nevermind I was being an a$$, 2 setups, of course there's not 2 setups, unless you UPX it and forgot you did it, lolI still don't understand 1 thing: Why is it safe to remove the file vLite put there? I don't know but it is! I mean that CLG file. Edited July 28, 2009 by LeveL
pher Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 My last two builds are stalling on connecting to the network on setup. Has anyone had this?
liquid0624 Posted July 29, 2009 Author Posted July 29, 2009 (edited) My last two builds are stalling on connecting to the network on setup. Has anyone had this?Yea its gonna stall a little bit its building the desktop profile for the first time but it shouldn't be more then 30 sec to a min max. In testing i have notice if you remove QoS or LLTD it lags a more then a standard install but your networking will still work fine. Also notice when removing the HomeGroup Shell Package using DISM as well. Edited July 29, 2009 by liquid0624
liquid0624 Posted July 29, 2009 Author Posted July 29, 2009 Great article i stumbled upon using Image X and DISM to Manage Windows 7...Managing Windows 7 with DISM
liquid0624 Posted July 29, 2009 Author Posted July 29, 2009 User Account Control (UAC)Run a legacy CPL elevatedSmartcardsCould possibly be the issues i would think or a service tweak possibly. You are barely removing anything. Is there supposed to be a blue-tooth icon in the control panel? Also did you check device manager and make sure it installed a driver for your receiver.
pher Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 (edited) I installed an unmodified version of windows and it worked fine. It had the same bth files/drivers installed. The bluetooth icon pops up on my bar. I think they hid it inside Devices and Printers. I couldn't even get into windows with that one. I did try unchecking UAC and Run Legacy CPL, but still wouldn't get passed the networking stall.I'm going to give a modified ultra a shot. You can also run> bthprops.cpl to get into the bluetooth options. Jeronimo Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 I made some improvements to my preset and batch-file that I will be posting shortly. Also trying to remove Windows Codecs, because I am trying VideoLAN VLC Palyer or whatever it is called (name is as confusing as the documentation/Wiki). Media Player Classic that I was using before, required for instance ffdshow, but then it still was not capable of playing WMV-fileswhen Windows codecs were removed.
blerk Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 (edited) @JeronimoI've been playing around with your batchs file and preset, but I want to keep Media Centre, when I leave it in it won't start, no errors or anything. What would I need to keep to make sure Media Centre works? Thanks for the preset/batch files btw, it all works perfectly for me, apart from Media Centre, I have no clue whats causing it to stop working. Edited July 29, 2009 by blerk
liquid0624 Posted July 29, 2009 Author Posted July 29, 2009 (edited) People need to stop posting there presets in the post and learn how to attach them this thread is getting out of hand to even try to read this very useful thread anymore Edited July 29, 2009 by liquid0624
