frankenberrie Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Just for everyone's information IE8 RTM has been releasedhttp://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-...wide-sites.aspxPlease post results with nLite please.. Thanks...
johnhc Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 bugmenot, this is no surprise. Please see this thread. Enjoy, John.
johnhc Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 bugmenot, you should watch the video. An MS lady says slipstreaming IE8 is supported only for Vista and above and not XP. She seems quite pleased at this development! I install IE8 in my nLited ISO via the RunOnce exit in Unattended. Sorry, John.
ccl0 Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 someone will probably eventually make a svcpack addon or something
maxvre Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 (edited) You can download the IEAK8 kit from the technet site and make a completely silent installer in both exe and msi package format for corporate network installations. But I cant get it to install from the svcpack folder :-( You can sliently install it once windows is up and running with the /q or /quiet switches but try as I might it simply wont run from svcpack.inf at t-13 minutes.Looks like the runonce is the only option for now.http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/ie/cc889351.aspx Edited March 22, 2009 by maxvre

Angelico_Payne Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 Do you need to have IE7 slipstreamed in XP installation to be able to use IE8 or u can just install/add it to installation, on any original SP3 disc?
submix8c Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 (edited) No, you don't.And FYI, for anyone tryng the above Add-On, here's another from an Administrator at the German nLite website (Add-On is translated to English) -here's his postand here's another thread with more information on the same and the one shown in this thread -right hereedit - and another FYI... this one -http://www.winaddons.com/internet-explorer-80/is a "hotfix" setup, not a "slipstream" setup... (the ones linked at top of this post are specifically for SlipStream). So choose your own and you decide... Edited March 23, 2009 by submix8c

On the good side, someone else already did it, so... -)
