March 11, 200917 yr I was just trying to patch up old NT4, and I can't seem to get Service Pack 6a High Encryption from Microsoft's download site. It just redirects to an error, saying the page no longer exists. I was able to get standard 6a not from Microsoft, but from a direct link to Microsoft on a 3rd party site, but that doesn't help.I did a search on the forum, and nobody has mentioned it previously.
March 11, 200917 yr Yep, it simply "vanished" However :http://web.archive.org/web/20060702015605/...X86/default.aspDownload Link :http://download.microsoft.com/download/win...-US/sp6i386.exejaclaz
March 11, 200917 yr Does this help?ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/winnt/winn...fixes/usa/nt40/edit - DANG, yer fast, jaclaz! (besides, above doesn't appear to have it. ) Edited March 11, 200917 yr by submix8c
March 11, 200917 yr Author You guys are awesome.I wonder why they removed the download page, but not the download?...or why they removed it at all.
March 12, 200917 yr Good question, although as an OS that has been out of support (completely) for a few years, seeing the downloads for updates and fixes disappear will likely be more common in the months and years to come.
March 12, 200917 yr hmm means someone should download all the updates before its too late, just like MDGx hosts all the 95 updates on his site
March 12, 200917 yr hmm means someone should download all the updates before its too late, just like MDGx hosts all the 95 updates on his siteI have most of their server content for NT and 2K backed up since last year.Tonight I'll make sure I have evreything in NT40 branch just in case.If (or actually - when) it disappears from MS server I'll make it available of course, no problem. March 13, 200917 yr Erpman (erpdude8 in these forums) has just reposted his NT4 SP6a page. Looks comprehensive:http://erpman1.tripod.com/wnt4upd.htmlHome page:http://erpman1.tripod.com/
April 3, 201016 yr Looks like erpman's nt4 sp page was removed too.Right. I wonder why that was necessary...? I don't think MDGx's NT4 page is quite as comprehensive as Erpman's was, but is as reliable as ever.
