DigeratiPrime Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 SMPlayer intends to be a complete front-end for MPlayer, from basic features like playing videos, DVDs, and VCDs to more advanced features like support for MPlayer filters and more. One of the most interesting features of SMPlayer: it remembers the settings of all files you play. So you start to watch a movie but you have to leave... don't worry, when you open that movie again it will resume at the same point you left it, and with the same settings: audio track, subtitles, volume...its a front end for mplayer, reminds me of MPUI and rulesPlayer I prefer MPC-HC with FFDShow.
Nick_White Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 It lacks some basic features, like playlist sorting.
Ponch Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I prefer MPC-HC with FFDShow.what does "HC" stand for ?
Martin H Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 (edited) The frontend is QT-based, so not the lightest solution indeed...Last time i checked, it used about 30 megs commit, without a video playing...Edit: Of course mplayer itself(the backend), is very lighweight... Nerwin Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Not bad, VLC is great for playing almost any video. But I normally use WMP and VLC.
