lalapnt
hello...i have a desktop pc that i have come to like so much these days...but i reinstalled WinXP SP2 and realized my ram has changed from 128mb to 64mb. after the reintallation of the OS...i used dxdiag to check and it told me i have 64mb..and also when i am trying to install some apps like adobe acrobat...i can't cuz my ram is 64mb...moreover tuneup utilities also tell me i have 64mb and that's how sure i am that my ram has reduced. physically i know there is 128ram in my pc and no one has changed it or something..cuz i live in my house alone...but previously, that was before i was installed winxpsp2, all of these things didn't exist..i could install adobe acrobat and tuneup told me i had 128mb of ram...so what is going on in my pc and how can i resolve this prob. please let me have any suggestions i will apriciate it. thanks. Kelsenellenelvian
Hmm sounds to me one of your ram chips has given up the ghost. (Died)You are lucky you can even boot.
Tripredacus
I am supposing that your motherboard doesn't support Memory Mirroring (RAID) settings?
ricktendo
Try removing and replacing them (take em out and put em back in)
Ponch
Try removing and replacing them (take em out and put em back in)I second that. Open the machine (powered off, of course), take the ram stick off and reset them. It might be redetected correctly.
