September 4, 200817 yr You're using Vista huh? We have seen this odd bug to and I might have a solution. Let me do some more testing and I'll get back to you. For now just leave the disk in until wpi starts properly...
September 4, 200817 yr Yes, leave the disk in or simply click "cancel" (the button on the left) four (4) times and then WPI will start properly.Kel, Mark, I was able to tear down, troubleshoot, and set up dozens of machines this weekend thanks to MSFN and WPI. The least of my concerns was the actual install routine, which went like clockwork. Thanks again fellas.

September 10, 200817 yr I may have a solution from the person who posted about using WMI for the cd/dvd check. I will post if works or not later.I thought this was just a Vista problem, but may be an XP x64 issue also. Dunno for sure.
September 12, 200817 yr Author @ mritter,what about your findings? Is there a solution for us?Kindly RegardsPuky70
September 12, 200817 yr I haven't tried the new code yet, still getting back in to the swing of things after vacation. And it's my birthday so not doing any work. ;-)
September 14, 200817 yr I put the new code in and it seems to work. I didn't get the pop up window. Will send it out to beta testers.
September 14, 200817 yr Hi Kel & mr.ritterI'm getting the same, in english, just downloaded 7.1.1 and ran it from my C drive, no modification whatsoeverSystem is Win XP Pro x86see attached imageerror: "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive"
September 19, 200817 yr This issue has been resolved. I may make a 7.1.2 release if it is needed bad enough.
February 23, 200917 yr Here is another question about blank screen. I searched (blank screen). As config.js file is large (now 155 kB and still growing) for Free Program Set made with means addons2wpi it takes a lot of time to load WPI window. Sometimes it continues so long that somebody would think - it is another kind of BSOD - BLANK Screen Of Death, fortunately killed by Alt+F4.In oszone forum (Russia) it was suggested one solution to shorten this time - run following commandsregsvr32 atl.dllregsvr32 corpol.dllregsvr32 dispex.dllregsvr32 jscript.dllregsvr32 scrrun.dllregsvr32 scrobj.dllregsvr32 vbscript.dllregsvr32 wshext.dllregsvr32 ole32.dllregsvr32 oleaut32.dllregsvr32 msxml3.dllBut for me it gives me almost no effect.
