cepacs
"/R:n :: number of Retries on failed copies: default 1 million."Is it really 1 million with a 30 second wait before retry by default? That would be insane! One problem with a file that can't be copied and it would take forever to complete! Is this correct?

cepacs
Can you upload your config and the file in question then pm me the link?I don't have a config file, I'm just commenting on Robocopy's instruction document. Don't you think it's strange that it says by default it retries 1 million times on failed copies? With a 30 second default wait time between retries, it would take 347 days just with one file that fails to copy. Maybe someone at Microsoft had a sense of humor and said "hey, let's put in the documentation that the default retries on failed copies will be 1 million and see if anyone notices!" JustinStacey.x
You need to take ownership of the parent folder in question in order to be able to copy files. In any system area, Windows Vista has very aggressive file permissions that can often result in headaches and cursing loudly at the computer, or at least it did for me while I was still getting to grips with it.UAC is supposed to allow these tightly set permissions to be effective without intruding on usability, but it hasn't quite worked out as well as we'd hoped. awscorp
Yeah.. is the 1 million really a default? paired with a 30 second retry that would be trying for over a year!!! Surely that must be a typo, right?

mritter
Just a side note: WPI already adds the /Y, so you don't need to specify it. Maybe that is the cause? Double /Y's?
