herbalist Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Does anyone know of a 98 compatible freeware alternative to Sysinternals TDImon that has filtering ability? Filtering is disabled in the free version

CharlotteTheHarlot Posted August 6, 2012 Author Posted August 6, 2012 (edited) What about OpenList, TDIMon, VCMon and VxdMon? They are not distributed in the Suite (nor do they appear on the All Utilitites page). The top post dates to the fall of 2008 when VS2008 was being used to recompile the utilities and they began to fail on Win9x.If you can create a list of the missing utilities from the earlier days I will dig them up from my own archives and others, and write a little section about them. I had meant to do this eventually. Thanks for reminding me.-CTH- Edited August 6, 2012 by CharlotteTheHarlot
Yushatak Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 (edited) Thanks for doing the work of keeping track of this, it saves me (and I'm sure others) lots of time!Look forward to you integrating more utilities into the list as mentioned above. Edited August 11, 2012 by Yushatak
CharlotteTheHarlot Posted September 20, 2012 Author Posted September 20, 2012 Over on the RegCompact for Win9x I have noted a possible bug in Process Explorer which I don't recall seeing before. Perhaps some others might try to reproduce it?You will need to also have IrfanView and RegCompact present with the former, or, the former *and* the latter already running to experience the bug.These were the result of my testing ...; ProcExp version that never crashed ...2005-08-22 - 13:29 ... 1,238,544 ... Procexp.exe v09.25; ProcExp versions that crashed at launch when both IrfanView and RegCompact were already open ...2006-02-09 - 13:53 ... 1,443,392 ... Procexp.exe v10.042006-02-22 - 15:31 ... 1,455,680 ... Procexp.exe v10.062006-05-10 - 16:28 ... 3,266,112 ... Procexp.exe v10.102006-05-11 - 10:38 ... 3,266,112 ... Procexp.exe v10.112006-07-12 - 12:59 ... 3,278,400 ... Procexp.exe v10.202006-11-01 - 14:07 ... 3,623,736 ... Procexp.exe v10.21; ProcExp versions that crashed at launch when IrfanView was already open ...2007-09-01 - 08:16 ... 3,585,408 ... Procexp.exe v11.002007-09-09 - 12:11 ... 3,589,160 ... Procexp.exe v11.012007-09-14 - 13:29 ... 3,589,160 ... Procexp.exe v11.022007-10-25 - 16:12 ... 3,609,640 ... Procexp.exe v11.032007-11-05 - 07:54 ... 3,564,584 ... Procexp.exe v11.042008-02-26 - 10:49 ... 3,654,696 ... Procexp.exe v11.102008-02-27 - 13:05 ... 3,654,696 ... Procexp.exe v11.11So in other words, with just IrfanView running and then launching ProcExp v11.0 to 11.11 the bug occurs and ProcExp crashes.For ProcExp versions 10.04 to 10.21 both IrfanView and RegCompact needed to be open to cause the crash. There may be more complex combinations that cause this crash as well.
TmEE Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 10.01 seems to work with Recompact and Irfanview together :http://tiido.rocketcat.info/Fileden/ThisVersionSeemsToWork.png...?

Interesting because that version I cannot locate anywhere. It nearly matches my 10.04, same size, but dated one day earlier. So what is the skin you got there on Win9x? Looks like a cross between Royale Noir and Metallic Shades EDIT: typo Edited September 23, 2012 by CharlotteTheHarlot
