Happy-Dude Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 johndoe74, is there a way to only include the firewall component? I don't really have a need to COMODO AV.I'm asking because I *layer* my security software, using Avast! as my AV and COMODO as my FW.Thanks very much, johndoe74 !!
Happy-Dude Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 New release:: Version 3.5.54375.427 : 29th Oct, 2008http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/release_notes.html* FIXED! CFP.exe checks for subscription status every time it is started * FIXED! CFP.exe crashes when filename is clicked on popup windowsHeya, johndoe74, might there be a way to only include the Firewall component into a add-on? That is the only thing that I wish to add to my nLited XP disk (not the AV, which I have Avast! for).http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/download_cis.html
Kurt_Aust Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I would recommend that the current version of CIS not be used on production machines, at least for now.I updated from v3.0.25.378 to v3.5.54375.427 via the firewall's built-in update mechanism, once I'd rebooted the system it would BSOD within 5 minutes of logging on. I had to boot into safe mode and remove it and then reinstall the older (and stable) v3.0.25.378 firewall. You can still get the older (but no longer supported) v3.0.25.378 firewall from:http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/dow...d_firewall.html
spacesurfer Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 I have had one occurrence of the firewall crashing and closing on its own after the update. I had to reboot.Seems the newer update is actually CIS without the Antivirus component. And it now called Comodo Firewall instead of Comodo Firewall Pro. The "pro" has been dropped.Interestingly, I tried to update one physical and one virtual machine from 3.0.xxx to 3.5.xxx via built-in update and it stated there are no updates available.
johndoe74 Posted November 3, 2008 Author Posted November 3, 2008 updated to v3.5.54375.427 (addons for prior builds also available in this topic)
Happy-Dude Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 johndoe74, any luck on making a CIS Firewall ONLY add-on?
jacquekyril Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Nice, but I have noticed that it sometimes blocks Firefox from launching (it happened both in windows xp 64bit and 32bit editions, after removing CIS everything turned back to normal) Thanx anyway for the effort...

Kurt_Aust Posted November 22, 2008 Posted November 22, 2008 (edited) With the recent update to CIS 3.5.55810.432, Comodo has rearranged their webpages in such a way that one cannot navigate to a page with a link to the older, Firewall only, versions.Direct links to the older, firewall only installers:CFP_Setup_English_2.4.18.184.exe (for Windows 2000)CFP_Setup_3.0.25.378_XP_Vista_x32.exeCFP_Setup_3.0.25.378_XP_Vista_x64.exe Edited November 22, 2008 by Kurt_Aust
Happy-Dude Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 I recommend holding off on an update for now. Some bugs have been detected and are being fixed for a future release.http://forums.comodo.com/leak_testingattac...22603#msg222603Keep an eye out next week for an updated version !!
