February 20, 200818 yr I would also like to know this. Can someone tel me which files Games Explorer uses.
February 20, 200818 yr [off-topic]hey allsorry but i didnt noticewhat is so good in Games Explorer ? Edited February 20, 200818 yr by aviv00
February 20, 200818 yr Author I believe that Halo 2 Vista requires it I also had problems starting Settlers 6: Rise of an Empire. It said that because of Parental Controls settings (does it even come with WS2008??) I didn't have access to it.. :/
February 21, 200818 yr FEAR needs it. I have placed the x64 and x86 versions of gameux.dll into my ws2008 install and when I try and run fear it starts about 2000 instances of rundll and rundll *32 and slowly closes each one then pops up the FEAR has failed to start error message.Another game I have needs the dll file but I think it will do the same thing.
February 22, 200818 yr Did that. no change. Next thing to do is try a reinstall and see if it complains about missing games explorer.
April 21, 200818 yr Anybody have a solution to this?Windows Server 2008 is awesome as a workstation, even for Games, but having the missing Vista Games Explorer would be the icing on the cake!
April 22, 200818 yr try add the gameuxdll to system download it from here:http://www.win2008workstation.com/wordpres...sing-gameuxdll/GL
January 11, 200917 yr regsvr32 gameux.dllDoesnt put games explorer in, but allows Halo 2 and FEAR to run for example.
