In the Unofficial pack for win98se I've installed only updates...

Surely this update pack for win98se is more updated than 98 SP2.1. For me it's necessary to take and merge some updates of Maximus Decim Cumulative Update not present in 98 SP2.1.a. A fusion/integration to obtain one stable product...

I've solved first problem translating one resource at once. About second problem, is there a solution or an explanation?

I inform all about 2 issue after updates installation with 98 SE SP 2.1a. 1) After installation of updates in 98 SE SP 2.1a, it is impossible to change screensaver in any way from display properties. One solution is Q258680 english that works perfectly. Unfortunately there is a problem for eventual localizations. After translation of resources with restorator (in italian), Q258680 doesn't work, while english original patch hasn't this issue. What it is possible to make to solve this trouble? 2) CTRL+5 key command to select all text in notepad doesn't work after updates installation with 98 SE SP 2.1a. Any explanations? Thank you.

HTHThe size change is not an issue, crashing Restorator is the issue. I suppose that this crash is caused by improperly calculated numbers in some headers (offsets, lengths, ...), I don't know which, but if PE Explorer can rectify this problem, it should be possible to correct the origibnal file too. If tcp/ip is unbound from netbios your home network file sharing will work fine between win9x computers, I transfer over mapped drives most days with it unbound. Your problem lies at your winxp end, which does not support netbeui as standard it needs copying from your xp disc or downloading. Once you have sorted your xp end out, file sharing will work, it is not a win9x problem. I would seriously consider ditching ics and getting a router, they offer far greater security. Talking about ICS, a question... Windows 98 FE is more secure in terms of sharing and network security than Windows 98 SE/ME? I know that Windows 98 FE hasn't ICS.

@ Soporific: it's possible to localize autopatcher personalizing, or better, remove some updates in this pack? Naturally AutoPatcher for windows 98 SE, if you give me permission, will contain all updates localized by me in italian and ufficial patches/components from microsoft. Unfortunately, some updates aren't in my language and I've necessity to reduce the pack, also for my requirement. For all testing I've a real machine with 98SE. Let me know. Max
