OK i see what you guys are saying. There is a picture of what it looks like in that blog. I have never seen that before! Not what I thought at all, since I can see a little plus sign above the results if you expand that, it is a little like that, but as I said that has been there for awhile. This new change is entirely different and I wonder why I can't see it. I am wondering... maybe you guys are logged into google to see this? I do not have a google account, this might be it?

[GUIDE] Creating WIM images of Windows XP for system deployment using
Tripredacus replied to IcemanND's topic in Windows PE
This would be more of an SCCM issue, as if you just use Imagex from in the WinPE you create from this thread, it doesn't care about sysprep at all. -

Shiva is just about back to normal, but a few problems I can't seem to sort out. 1. USB not installed. Anytime I go to install the drivers for USB, I get a BSOD. 2. Can't get the video card to work properly. Yes the X1650 is not compatible, I replaced it with a Radeon 9600 XT instead. I have the drivers from ATI installed and it is detected in Device Manager as such. However, it also detects "Standard Display Adapter" as well. In Display Properties, it says my primary display is the Standard Display Adapter and the secondary monitor is the Radeon and is disabled. I was originally using VGA to the monitor, so I shut down and connected to DVI but it is still the same. As a result, I am stuck with 16 colors and 800x600. Any ideas? I'd rather use this video card, although I do have some others like a GeForce 3 floating around somewhere. UPDATE: USB still broken. I fixed the video card problem by editing the system.ini. Then set the colors to 256, which at that point the ATI Software detected the card and was able to go to 32bit color and 1024x768 using the DVI port.

The mode for the Mass Storage Controller changed. For example, if you originally installed your XP with the HDD set for IDE in the BIOS, then went to the BIOS and change it to AHCI or RAID, you will get this message. Check your Drive setting in the BIOS.

Me too. This was there for a long time, at least for Image Search.

A Question about the upgrading of my DC
Tripredacus replied to dubsdj's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
I merged your topics. No need to create a new one. That is interesting, I did not know if there was a difference between a 32bit and a 64bit domain controller. That was how I had done it, my 2003 was 32bit and the 2008 was 64bit. However my 2008 was not R2 so maybe there is a difference? -
Did you get the driver from Lenovo? Yes there was only 1 modem driver for this modem for Lucent. I am not in possession of this notebook anymore, but thanks for the help.

Welcome to the MSFN! Do not make multiple topics in different sections of the forum. I deleted your duplicate topic in General Discussion. You should contact your Microsoft Rep about questions like this. They would be able to get you the best answer. Note that MSFN is not a Microsoft website, we just talk about Microsoft products here.

If you have no response it might be because no one knows this program you are using. We don't have all the answers. I even had to use the google to find out what PCSX2 even was. I tried some of those emulators before but never got them to work. Sounds like you got further than what I've ever got.

Exchange Server No longer receiving outboud mail
Tripredacus replied to ethanmcf's topic in Networks and the Internet
Ah ok. I did not get the message returned to me either. -
After having to work on that ThinkPad today, I realized that I should bring Shiva into work to get it going. It would solve the problem of not having extra monitors or keyboards (say if I needed to download something) and lack of floppy disks and drives. So Shiva will be brought into work and maybe I can get it fixed up. I'm still worried about the video card, I'll have to look it up if there are Windows 98 drivers for it.

That worked great. Unfortunately the PCI Serial device was the modem but the driver didn't work, the other one was a Power Management device that isn't compatible with Windows 98. Makes me wonder why IBM sold it with 98 then.

A Question about the upgrading of my DC
Tripredacus replied to dubsdj's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
The migration was actually pretty easy when I did it, except 2008 wouldn't let me migrate Infrastructure FSMO from the 2003 server. It gave me an error about it, so keep an eye out for that one. I don't know what the fix is, I just left the old server running with FSMO and DNS. -
If he can't get to Windows, you can disable the automatic restart on failure right on the F8 menu itself.

I do not know if you are using all the same switches properly. Also this: You're just going to get a notepad to open probably. I'll move this topic to Applications forum, there are answers there about the correct switches to do a silent install.

Yeah, double posting is bad.

Well this is definately the place for you!

I had to set up an IBM ThinkPad A21m notebook today with Windows 98. I have downloaded all the drivers for 98 for this notebook from IBM/Lenovo's website and have tried them all. I am left with 2 devices in Device Manager that I cannot identify. They are: - PCI Serial Controller - Unknown Device I am used to newer Device Managers where you can see the HwID and then search for the correct INF file to point to. I tried running PCISCAN but it does not show me these devices. I am not sure if the PCI Serial Controller is the modem or not, as there is already a modem installed under Network Adapters. Also the Serial Port is installed under Ports as COM1. The Audio and Video work properly, and this is probably going to be enough for the guy. I may be able to get away with not installing those devices. However, what kinds of tools are out there for me to determine what these devices are? I also had tried manually installing the drivers from the drivers I downloaded but they did not work.

Let the user choose the Win7 edition ...
Tripredacus replied to midiboy's topic in Unattended Windows 7/Server 2008R2
If you can access the drive your setup is run on, you can see in Panther what step it stopped at. Actually I hope Panther saves your files if you reset it. Things like WinPE or NTFSDOS or NTFS4DOS can get you access to the log files. Since you made a screenshot, I imagine you used a VM. -
Exchange Server No longer receiving outboud mail
Tripredacus replied to ethanmcf's topic in Networks and the Internet
I'm going to start by clarifying that the chat support guy mentioned "subdomain" but you said it was not a subdomain. Its a terminology issue for that. Example: Domain = domain.com subdomain = mail.domain.com or subdomain = anything.domain.com However, when I did email forwarding, I did not have to deal with the actual mail server address so this might be how they do it. For my webhost (this does not work now so if you email this address the message will NOT be EVER received) I said I want my domain email address info@tripredacus.net to be forwarded to MYEMAILADDRESS@yahoo.com. I had this set up for 3 different accounts, each pointing to specific email addresses. It was set up as info@ goes to yahoo1, musik@ goes to yahoo2, (else)@ goes to yahoo3 account. (else) meaning anything not info or musik. -
TCP/IP connection limit is truning out to be a real pain
Tripredacus replied to morland's topic in Networks and the Internet
I don't think a restore point is going to help you. You'll need to backup your original tcp.sys before trying to change it. A restore point isn't like the Recycle Bin, it can't restore missing or changed files. I'm wondering what you are doing with this PC that the connection limit has become a problem.... Are you running it as a server? -
There are three Seagate threads up there. Which one exactly? EDIT: Nevermind, I see it. Lockey Lockey!
