  1. Greetings poster, this would have been helpful 6 years ago.
  2. The term "better" is an expression of opinion. Never will everyone agree what is and what isn't better.
  3. So finally, after a couple years they will give RT to OEMs? They gave everyone who had Server 2012 (and R2) the ability to PXE boot ARM devices but never gave anyone the OS to deploy to it.
  4. Why would you want to have tabs when you could have web pages in separate windows? -Noel Is this a sarcasm? I have a whole monitor already dedicated to IE.... (Maybe I need more monitors?)
  5. So the new IE is a blend of Chrome and Firefox (which is a blend of Chrome and Chrome) and will have improved tabs? As in, the tabs will no longer be next to the address bar and I can have more than 4 at once?
  6. Looks like Google updated this topic's original image, so it looks normal now. Here is an old article where you can see the original image: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/google/7473754/Google-Street-View-Giant-floating-pliers-above-the-sky-of-West-Bromwich.html
  7. Your answer file is set to go into Audit Mode. User creation is not done in this case.
  8. Use an Autounattend.xml file for each edition. The only real way to do what you want is to create a custom boot.wim that has a program (or script/batch) that launches first. Then you choose your option and it will launch setup with the appropriate unattend file. See here for reference (this topic uses WinRE to launch setup) http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/142990-installing-windows-7-from-recovery-partition/?p=918385
  9. It was reported that Notch had never intended for Minecraft to get so big and was uneasy about how to handle such a large company. That was the primary reason for wanting to sell Mojang. I even read that they went to Microsoft first. I don't expect any of them to just disappear. So far it sound more like that Microsoft will be handling the business end of things, while the current developers say nothing with the game or their community participation will change.
  10. The interactive desktop, I think, is more of a recent term. Where in Vista and newer OSes, the interactive desktop resides in Session 1 (or higher number) and the System account and services run in Session 0. For XP, everything would run in Session 0 (as it was interactive) unless another account was logged in, either via RDP or Fast User Switching. I'm wondering why you want to use the System account, why not the logged in user account? Schtasks allows for password input with the /rp switch. c:\windows\system32\schtasks /create /sc MONTHLY /MO first /D MON /st 07:00:00 /TN rights /tr c:\PROGRAM.exe /ru COMPUTERNAME\USERNAME /rp PASSWORD
  11. Good to know that you can set a default language that isn't the language of the ISO.
  12. I don't understand the complaints about UAC. I have PCs where I both use it and don't use it. Of course the one that I have it disabled is in an isolated network. For all other PCs and Servers, the only thing I change is to disable the screen lockout during the UAC prompt, via the Local Security Policy.
  13. I've seen Flash sites built this way, it is an evolution of design you could say. In previous years, the individual SWFs would indeed run on their own. The individual object does not run on its own but requires includes from either the PHP (or whatever) page that it is designed to run from, OR includes from the wrapper SWF.
  14. Parts of the video do look like an improvement over Windows 8.1, but still not feeling that Start Menu. I don't know why they felt the need to put live tiles on a part of the GUI that is not open for more than a couple of seconds.
  15. That site uses a wrapper and only will execute included SWFs if located on the correct domain. That animation is likely in the intro asset shown in their XML: http://www.attraction-lemanga.fr/site/config.xml
  16. Bigmuscle has already said he was thinking of using password instead of Postal Code, so I'm sure he will find the best way to help. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/170850-aero-glass-for-win81-125/?p=1083513
  17. Yeah you need add. But you also need to handle your default language. In my example, my Windows is En-US, so I have to put the English line in there too. So basically English (the first "add" in my code) is first and set true, then the others are added too but false. I think you can change the true/false as you want. Just try it out on a test system before sticking it in your imaging process, that's what I did.
  18. There are youtube videos on that page, I thought you meant those. There IS a way to do it, however it involved a bit of work, possibly batch scripting and using a PHP file. The files themselves are in fragments, which need to be individually downloaded. This can be done in a batch process, there seem to be various ways to go about it using either browser plugins or others. Read through this thread to find the information about that: http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/342430-F4F-capturing-converting Here are the first two URLs containing the segmented files for your video: http://international.stream.redbull.com/z/media/hds/1892432913001/201409/3093/1892432913001_37631,51354,49103,45155,45158,45136,49135,45124,001_MI201406060001-mpeg4-hd-medium-720-channelSelectionT0C0-T0C1.mp4.csmil/1_a3ed2f8d8e5b9694_Seg1-Frag1/http://international.stream.redbull.com/z/media/hds/1892432913001/201409/3093/1892432913001_37631,51354,49103,45155,45158,45136,49135,45124,001_MI201406060001-mpeg4-hd-medium-720-channelSelectionT0C0-T0C1.mp4.csmil/1_a3ed2f8d8e5b9694_Seg1-Frag2I found these files by using Chrome's web developer panel, and looking on the Network tab. As for determining how many fragmments there are, you may need to watch the entire video (or maybe the end) and look at the the Network log. Screenshot: I also did a google search for "Seg1-Frag1" to find that forum thread about combining the files. Good Luck!
  19. Ah you don't change the locale that way. You use InputLanguageID and the locale value you would use in the unattend. I posted a sample XML file in this thread: http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/163588-keyboard-language-problem/?p=1046249
  20. Its no waste of time. We all sometimes will jump the guy and make a topic too early and then figure it out. In fact, I had some theory that going through and typing out the problem makes something click in your brain and helps you fix your own problem! I've even figured things out in the middle of composing a thread... So as long as you fixed it, it isn't a waste of time to me. However, this is the Windows 8 section. In the future if you have a problem with Tihiy's StartIsBack, post in the relevant sticky thread instead of creating a new one.
  21. Hong Kong? http://postal-codes.net/hong-kong/ I guess that puts a nail in the zip code part of registration... I wonder then how any other software or website registration handles addresses from Hong Kong?
  22. Xper posted about it yesterday. http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/172670-5-million-gmail-passwords-leaked-to-russian-bitcoin-forum/
  23. Those are all Youtube videos and not "streams" (which work differently.)
  24. Cdob, I disagree. This particular firmware for the board is 64bit, but that they change it to identify the CPU as being 32bit. It is true there is no Windows 7 32bit UEFI support, however the board does allow a Legacy boot where Windows 7 32bit should work fine if the OS is in the first partition. I checked with ISObuster, these results. FAT with boot files: The other FAT (Deleted Files and Folders) is empty. Here is their EFI application: As a comparison, here is the boot file for Windows 8 32bit EFI: That Windows 8 DVD is also able to boot on the ECS board. So, unless I missed something, you can boot both the 64bit and 32bit EFI file on this board. Also, the UEFI boot file doesn't seem to care about the architecture of the CPU.
  25. Sure that export is fine. About the Windows Update agent... If this is normally installed using Windows Update, there is the potential to read the Windows Update log to get the URLs of the CAB/MSU files it downloads and download them separately.
