  1. You do those things on your own and there are posts on how to do this, a FREE app can't do everything for you and I will not do everything for you, unless you pay me a million dollars . This UA stuff is about learning a few things on your own and contribute the information.
  2. you use \boot\etfsboot.com with Vista create an Iso with CDIMAGE or mkisofs.exe and then burn with Nero is easiest. I'm currently converting to mkisofs myself CDIMAGE -lVISTA_UA -t07/11/2008,03:39:40 -h -j1 -m -bE:\uaDVD\boot\etfsboot.com E:\uaDVD E:\ISO\VISTA_UA.iso
  3. good you got it going but what was wrong? Yes WSIM screw the files up sometimes like that.
  4. <Gadget3 /> <Gadget2 /> <Gadget1 /> Those are blanks. also redo this and remove the blank space cpi" />
  5. Spoof http://maxxpsoft.com/forums/index.php?show...entry3403 Is that what you had? Nope 3 tries in XP and same as latest 3 try vLite, a failure If someone wanted to move to Vista then they need something that works from currently XP don't need 1 person of a million saying it's working when it's simply NOT and the author went on vacation while he had this yes man jump in Dam might as well try to do this myself
  6. spoof, may be changes needed to the xml with sp1, you have the Waik for sp1? Ok Albert add SP1 works in Vista But fails in XP, so does vLite Your app can select more than 1 images to update which is much better. I haven't tried an installl yet though.
  7. Only the current user. Each time Windows loads it loads the C:\Documents and Settings\USER\NTuser.dat which is the reg settings and each user has his own. If you modify the Default User settings then whatever you do there will apply to all Users.
  8. I chose only 1 image, moved everything to C: to select, chose the cabs and stuff similar to TheSickman and still after an hour the 1450
  9. can only apply HKEY_CURRENT_USER to a logged in user. Apply to all will have to be HKLM so look for policies that are HKLM you want
  10. decided to try it with X86-wave1.exe and
  11. don't think winsat was the problem, was showing I had a score. I copied those files and merged the reg at setupcomplete.cmd last time. Before I done it at Firstlogoncommands. cause both those are after Winsat is supposed to run. The HKCU has to be done at Firstlogoncommands Maybe a bunch of other stuff needs to be done for Aero in reg, I only used most obvious
  12. Ran all that and still not enabled. On another note my Dreamscene started crashing last couple times saying Explorer crashed when it didn't so I surrender, I prefer to have Dreamscene running when I hit the desktop so guess I'll have to wait on the assesment for now.
  13. 1 more key when you enable Aero REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM" /v Composition /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f Too late tonight and will try my full mods in the morning.
  14. In the Panther folder you'll find this file. Does anyone know what you can look at this with or what type file encoding? I've tried Ultraedit
  15. I disable it last time. When I ran it after load desktop I actually get a better score. I'm sure it needs to see that Winsat ran so may need these things Creates this file in C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore directory 2008-04-11 22.52.17.287 Assessment (Initial).WinSAT.xml It creates these extra reg keys exactly like this also so may need them or your keys from an installed version [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winsat] "LastExitCode"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winsat] "LastExitCodeCantMsg"="Assessment Completed. " [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winsat] "LastExitCodeWhyMsg"="The assessments or other operations completed successfully. " [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winsat] "VideoMemoryBandwidth"=dword:0039b0d4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winsat] "GraphicsFPS"=dword:00011718 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winsat] "MFMediaMaxRunTime"=dword:0001d4c0 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinSATAPI] "LastFormalAssessment"=dword:00040033
  16. Windows Vista Experience Rating is saved in C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore directory into a xml file. What I'm thinking is if you just add the file or files there during Install, perhaps with Firstlogoncommands then it will think Winsat ran and Aero will be enabled maybe with above things to start it. Need testing there.
  17. k amit Edited first post with the Reg Add part
  18. HKU\%SID% is only a temporary location for some keys. That key is mirrored in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DreamScene What I'm saying is you should be able to add it there and should work. I don't have SP1 integrated at this time cause I was waiting on a final.
  19. You try the reg tweak and the Net Start? 2 sets it to automatic, that may require reboot which I do after an install with all my Apps but should be able to pull those off in the FirstLogoncommands Edit I'll try the moving next go round
  20. or you can try Firegiers stuff http://www.msfn.org/board/Vista-unattended-Guide-t95462.html or mine There are other ways where you inject but that needs a .INF and then alternate methods
  21. amit I just tried a rename on the Winsat.exe to winsat.old in system32 but that failed, it ran the performance test. What did you do exactly to skip that? I did rename it in Firstlogoncommands but that should have been after the fact
  22. Mount and Export the images you want to a new .wim. I get Ultimate out of the rest All 1 line D:\VistaUA\Tools\x86\imagex /export /check /compress maximum D:\VistaUA\uaDVD\sources\install.wim 4 D:\VistaUA\uaDVD\sources\installnew.wim Then delete original install.wim and rename installnew.wim to install.wim
  23. Nice amit will save time installing since I do so many The reg key to enable will be HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UxSms "Start" with a value of 2 and its a Reg_Dword NET START UxSms Probably can run reg before the reboot and won't need to start the service with Net I'll try that next time
  24. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics delete the reg key value IconTitleWrap set to a 1 to wrap
  25. uhh don't use vlite I can remove that from my stuff but it's several things you have to do. Go ask in the vlite forum be best bet.
