  1. Could some1 tell me which 2 files I must replace and where to look for them?
  2. I don't want offline files or wathever. I just want that when I restart Win2k and if one of my mapped drives computer is offline it won't bug me with that question. I would like something similar that it does in WinXP. If in WinXP a mapped drive computer isn't pressent, it doesn't bug U but it continues loading to the desktop. Now I really can't understand if this is possible in WinXP how come it is not in Win2k. Esspecialy because these2 OS are almost the same.
  3. That's very interesting. Could U tell me how do I assing a letter to a shortcut?
  4. Anyone?
  5. I do believe this is old news. We've known 4 some time now that M$ won't release W2k SP5
  6. I guess M$ is really taking it's sweet little time with this1, since there's almost no commercial benefit from W2k. GOD **** CAPITALISTS
  7. I would like that the computer would just assume that the MAPPED drive is OFFLINE even if it isn't. Is that possible? Or at least wouldn't BUG U if the mapped drive is OFFLINE, just like WinXP does it!
  8. I've tried setting PERSISTENT to YES but it does nothing if the other computer is offline. Any other ideas?
  9. This is what I would like to tweak: Performance enhancements for network, browsing and other services Security
  10. Tanx, did it the hard way thru GPEDIT.MSC -->> I really dislike having passwords on my client computers. I only have the SERVER passworded
  11. Just did a fresh install of WinXP w/ slipstreamed SP2. I didn't create any User Accounts. So I use the Administrator one. But the problem is that when I try to access this computer from the HOME LAN I can't connect to it. It keeps asking me about a password and a username for this computer. The strange thing is that I haven't set any passwords, cos I never do. Could some1 pliz help me out here??
  12. I must say that it is an interesting thing! But the latest version I could find is dated October '04. How come there are no newer builds?
  13. So when will the Update Rollup be released? I am eager to know that, cos I want to burn it to Win2000 CD
  14. just some mistake dont even read it better yet, could some1 just delete this
  15. So there is no need for any extra tweaks to be applied? Since no one answered.
  16. So is there no other solution to this annoyance?
  17. I seee! That is no good to me! Cos I want that all of the MAPPED drives are always there and that Windows would just assume that all of the computers are ONLINE even if they are not! Is that possible?
  18. But what happens to the computer that is offline? Will it not be MAPPED, even if it is written in the script?
  19. Great will try it. ps. When I put this into START UP do I have to UNMOUNT all the MAPPED DRIVES or all I have to do is just put it in START UP and all is well??
  20. The thing is: When U mount a drive in Win2k and when U restart Win2k and the machine that has the MAPPED DRIVE connected to is offline, the annoying YES or NO question comes up right after bootup. What must I do that that it would just ignore it and just assume that all MAPPED DRIVES are connected??
  21. I was wondering. Since I am running a Win2k PRO as a server which has 4NICs installed that act as a software router thru the help of KERIO WINROUTE PRO 4.25. This computer is also used for 24/7 EMULE and TORRENT and on occasion some VIDEO COMPILING STUFF (eg. DVD LAB PRO) Now I would like to know which tweaks should I apply to the system if any? SPECS: DURON 1600 768 DDR RAM 160GB HDD TNT2 PRO grPHICS (a reaaaal antique ) Win2k PRO SP4 w/all fixes
  22. Will try what U suggested.
