DriverPacks BASE V5.07.7
Bâshrat the Sneaky replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
BTS DriverPacks BASE V5.07.4 Changelog: V5.07.4 (25 Jul 05) -Removed: [DPB]: the 'experimental' tags for the Keep the Drivers (KtD) & RunOnceEx options. -Fixed: [DPM] slipstream_DPM.cmd: added a new HWID for the hpt3xx driver. -Improved: [DPM] slipstream_DPM.cmd: the nVidia nForce 1/2/3/4 drivers have been split up into 5 groups of drivers. This was possible thanks to the updated drivers. This should (let's all hope so) fix all the problems with these chips. Download Known issues -Bug|non-critical: [DPB] all methods: in winnt.sif: if a section is being updated with new and/or updated entries, it will add a new section if the cases of the sectionname aren't identical. -To-do [DPB]: add an option to enable KtD for certain DriverPacks only. -To-do [DPM]: the Promise misery... making a driver of myself would be the only 'easy' and 'painless' way to solve it. 50% complete now. -
Hi, I don't seem to have any Xircom driver in my DriverPack :| And what does this mean? ? Windows 9x .sys files have been removed, NDIS5/NDIS5.1 have been kept.

DriverPacks BASE V5.07.7
Bâshrat the Sneaky replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
Hmm... I'll remove this driver... Since the HWID it supports is already supported by default by the 'viaide.sys' driver. That is correct. The latest one does the same thing. (Updated the FAQ with the 'latest version' thingie.) You could also just use the extra file I'm using... Or does that give problems? Why don't you just use 'START/WAIT'? Then the '3 minutes issue' shouldn't matter anymore... And no, I don't have a rough guess... It depends greatly on the hard disk used: on a 20GB HDD it will take MUCH longer than on a 160GB HDD... Hmmm... I'll report this back when I've reinstalled my system myself. -
Poll: DPs Poll #4: need for success-list?
Bâshrat the Sneaky replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
That shouldn't be a problem. Actually I've already moved the list to the uAwiki, but in several cases I removed all detail and just added 'supported: all' (e.g. DP Chipset: are there any 'failuredevices'? I don't think so...). -
I'm afraid that's the only way..... /me wishing such a thing as 'advanced diagnostics' existed...

Blonde Stuck on Flyvideo 3000 Drivers & App
Bâshrat the Sneaky replied to SexyMaster's topic in Device Drivers
Well... integrating the drivers may not include integrating the application. Sometimes it's included in the drivers, in this case obviously not. Please consider doing something like this: if exist %SystemRoot%\system32\a_specific_driver.sys ( start /wait the_application.exe /with /the /correct /silent /install /switches REM or you could use an AutoIt script ) I suppose you know where to find more information about silent installation switches? -
In Firefox, type about:config in the address bar and change/add these values: browser.cache.memory.enable true browser.cache.memory.capacity 131072 This enables browser caching in your PC's memory, using a maximum of 128MB (you can set it higher if you'd like to). This gives Firefox a very noticeable speed boost, which makes its image & page loading times very similar to Opera's.

If either of the 'YES' answers wins, I will make a wiki page that everyone can edit, so the list is always up-to-date.

DriverPacks BASE V5.07.7
Bâshrat the Sneaky replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
It seems everything is getting stable - though that is very relative. Compare the V5.07 topic to the previous ones: they were all about 40 pages long! And almost all of those 40 pages were there because of bugs... Time for innovation must be coming then -
Good you said "I think" and not "I'm sure", because that's not enough... now add DriverPack MassStorage only and then all others, then let me know! P.S.: to know != now

PROB | Bug in DriverPacks BASE V5.07.3?
Bâshrat the Sneaky replied to lieblingsbesuch's topic in The General Stuff
Hi, the extract.cmd file is created and then again removed, so it's only needed temporary. During the slipstream process, several of these extract.cmd's are generated and then removed again. I told you I thought I had a solution, but it turned out to be no solution at all. The only thing I can find as an explanation is that you have disabled - somehow - the binding for the '.cmd' extension to the program 'cmd.exe'. That's why it isn't being executed, and that's why nothing is working for you. I just came up with this idea (I'd have informed you earlier if I'd found a solution earlier), after brainstorming many times without success: the code was perfectly OK - but you found a backdoor, apparently ! EDIT: This is NOT the cause: if it was the cause, the BTS_DriverPacks_*.cmd file wouldn't have started in the first place! (Thank you, djbe, for pointing that out . I overlooked that fact .) Then I have no more suggestions at all, except for.. you reinstalling your OS and retry. So far you are the only one with this problem, so the problem must certainly lie at your side, I'm afraid... @sonic: I've searched again and again and again, but I cannot find a bug that could possibly cause that... It must have been a filesystem problem or something... I don't know. Do you still have this problem anyway? -
DriverPack MassStorage V5.07.3
Bâshrat the Sneaky replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
The 7.13 does NOT have all HWIDs... Check the sata_ide & sata_raid folders of the 6.66 and the 7.13, compare their .inf files and you'll see they're different! I've already implemented a solution, I'm curious if it will work for everybody... We'll see it later today (it's 00.39 here, everything should get online between 11.00-18.00). -
Is added to the update

Mass Storage Pack 5.04 And Aliide.sys Failure
Bâshrat the Sneaky replied to a topic in The General Stuff
So you're not using a multi-boot disc, just a plain ol' simple CD/DVD with only (unattended) Windows XP on it? And method 1 worked perfectly, you said? So you retried and didn't have any problems, or what.... :| hehe.... B) -

I cannot get to the driver files.... Could you extract them for me, on a system that has this chipset?
