  1. You could also edit the HIVESDEF.INF file in the I386 folder.
  2. Why not simply select the partition? I don't understand why this could ever be such a big obstacle... It takes like 2 minutes at most before you can select it!
  3. Maybe you can take a look at the HIVExxxx.inf files in the I386 folder? I guess regtweaks applied to these files would have this effect as well! (haven't tried yet but)
  4. Thank you! Will use this one!
  5. This one: Atheros (HP W400/W500) | PCI | a/b/g | 04/05/2004,3.1.1.50 filename: atheros-3.1.1.50.zip size: 8.97MB content: SP27732driver.exe and SP27733utility.exe This comes from the site of HP and it supports the HP W400/W500. If you can point me to any other drivers of Atheros? They don't provide unified drivers, different drivers for each brand they sell their chips to...
  6. Oh well, the method used in the guide can only be used for non-textmode drivers. (so drivers that are not required for the part where you select the harddisk, because the drivers are only loaded during the GUI part of setup, when you use that method). That's why you have to use another method for MassStorage drivers: 1. the most used method at these forums: the method that's described on Greenmachine's pages (which is currently used in DriverPack MassStorage as well) 2. the TXTSETUP.OEM method. You can find more about this method in the thread with the same name.
  7. Look in the .inf file for the section [sourceDisksFiles]. In this section all required files for the driver are listed!
  8. That's only required if you initiate setup through winnt32.exe or when you're using a PE disc!
  9. OK, Sitecom is finished! DriverPack WLAN now already consists of 184 drivers, good for 107 MB of data, uncompressed. Compressed this is... ONLY 10.8 MegaBytes! Will now continue with Microsoft, Surecom and Telewell EDIT: just to compare: I've zipped that same 107 MB of data with 7-zip, to zip format, settings: ultra. Guess what size? 44.0 MB! I think you understand now why I choose the 7-zip format : D
  10. The utilities are not included. Imagine, if I would do add the utilities for every LAN driver... The size would multiply by at least 5... And the work to add them too... But this does not mean you can't do that yourself. Just download the utility you need. Then make a batch file like this: IF EXIST %systemroot%\system32\drivername.sys START /WAIT setup.exe That will do the job.
  11. Don't use capital characters in your topic title! This is against the forum rules! And please clarify your explanation, I don't understand what you're saying.. What 'stupid program' do you mean?
  12. Thanks, eXtermina, I will look at it later today (first finish Sitecom) Also thank you, Astalavista!
  13. Or just use 7-zip.... free and faster. www.7-zip.org
  14. I'm very glad that it worked out so well! It was my goal to make it this easy, so I'm really in a good mood now!
  15. So far DriverPack WLAN consists of 164 drivers, everything from A to Sitecom. This means I'm getting close to completion! Someone requested support for wirless devices of the brand 'Syntax', but I'm not able to find their drivers. It seems they have been acquisited by lsilogic... If anyone can point me to any OFFICIAL site?
  16. Note that if you want to install the driver only (so not the utility/software), you can also use my DriverPack LAN.
  17. I'm sorry, but I can't help you with this one... Because I simply have no experience with multiboot CDs/DVDs... Maybe someone else can help?
  18. There are 2 'easy' solutions: (in fact 3) 1. De-attach all harddisks temporarily and use a spare (small) one for testing purposes. 2. Create an extra partition, only for testing. I'd recommend also to use a bootmanager. (so you don't have to edit your boot.ini over and over again) 3. Buy a spare computer B)
  19. I should indeed do that. But it's also in the readme files, AND in the DriverPacks - OVERVIEW topic. I always quadruple check the driverpaths But as you can see, there still can be some errors. From now on I'll ask some other people to check it as well. P.S.: learned the word 'quadruple' here
  20. @Lucius Snow: thank you! @eldotti & Astalavista: I'm afraid the answer is indeed NO. If I could do it that way, I'd have done it.
  21. Notepad: Notepad++ EDIT:oops already mentioned MSN: MirandaIM Windows Media Player: iTunes
  22. 1. There are several drivers with same filenames: => this method won't work 2. Everything becomes very messy: hundreds of files mixed up: => very difficult to maintain all this. 3. more things where I don't think of atm...
  23. LOL 1. There are several programs of this kind available. Some maybe important note: when you're using the back-up and restore function to install drivers, it can only install those drivers. => not interesting for unattended installations, unless you want to use it on ONE pc 2. It's not free 29.90$
