  1. From the website: Shouldn't this be HFSLIP 1.3.0 like it says in the title for that section?
  2. I think he's talking to the_guy. We aren't about to put your work into HFSLIP without asking you! the_guy is simply giving a suggestion. If we do use it, I'm sure Tomcat76 will give all the credit he needs to.
  3. On retail versions of Windows, the post-install wizard should ask you to activate. Just read the questions carefully and don't skip any. Are you sure it doesn't install? You do get that trimmed-down UI you described, right? There should be a window that pops up showing the progress of the installation (as you would normally see it if installing IE7 manually).
  4. IE7 cannot be installed if Windows is not already activated. In other words, your source either must not need activation or you activate your Windows during the Post-Install Setup Wizard. You get a "trimmed-down UI" because Internet Explorer 7 can only be installed at GUIRunOnce (in mainstream versions of Windows, the system cannot identify itself as "legitimate" before the first logon). I'm not quite sure how Tomcat76 plans to tackle this problem. IE7 integration/slipstreaming has always been problematic from the beginning, either due to Microsoft's limitations or various caveats/bugs users have reported. So, to answer your questions... Yes, there should be a wizard as soon as GUI setup finishes, usually titled "Welcome to Windows." Unless your source is corrupt or invalid for one reason or another, you shouldn't need to do any special preparation. Please remember to reboot after IE7 is installed.
  5. I just did a routine check on my Windows 2003 hotfixes today after downloading the most recent ones, and I realized I was missing whole batches of updates from last year according to Tomcat's update list!! I guess I just got behind on updates for 2003 as I don't normally run HFSLIP on it. Can someone please verify for me that the following updates do in fact still apply when installing 2003 with Internet Explorer 7? Thanks in advance! KB908981, KB912818-v3, KB917275, KB917422, KB920670, KB920683, KB921883-v2, KB922819, KB923191, KB923414, KB923689, KB925876, KB929969
  6. Thanks for that list, Kiki. Internet Explorer 7 has also been re-released (February 7, 2007). What can someone make of this? KB894199 lists Internet Explorer 7 under today's updates, saying it was released on Feb. 7th, but the binaries appear to be identical.
  7. This issue has been reported before. I don't think we ever figured out the cause of it.
  8. Slight bug with the NOLOGCOPY feature. I do not believe this was intended. The log is no longer copied to SOURCESS until after the ISO is created. That essentially removes the usefulness of the variable and makes that feature the "default." This occurs regardless of whether the variable is actually set as there is no longer a copy command for HFSLIP.LOG before :MAKEISO is called.
  9. Windows Defender must go in HFGUIRUNONCE. Regarding .NET, you can't slipstream KB928416. Use Tomcat's Silent .NET Maker to create a silent installer you can place in HFGUIRUNONCE. Refer to the other topics on that and you should have your questions answered.
  10. Yep, MS is readying about a dozen of them patches.
  11. Glad you solved it, XibaD. Yep, files are often prone to corruption. It's best to check that first .
  12. I've never gotten command prompt windows during HFGUIRUNONCE. Try including cmdow in HFTOOLS if you haven't already. The latest test release changes the order in which EXEs and MSIs in HFSVCPACK_SW are installed. Maybe that will help.
  13. I just noticed something. You posted this on January 31st. I posted my checksums on January 30th, and hadn't updated the Roots Certificate Update yet, but both my version and this newer one have the same checksum. Guess the 2K version didn't change after all...
  14. Updated KB905474 and replaced KB928388 with the newer cumulative update.
  15. Your comments are confusing! Have you tried 70208a yet? Please use that version with all the files in the right places, like Tomcat76 said. Also, make sure your .NET files for the Silent .NET maker are in the correct location, the correct entries in the answer file are set, and ALL YOUR FILES are in the right place!
  16. The file is there. Tomcat just provided the wrong link. http://users.telenet.be/tc76/hfslip/test/HFSLIP_prep.zip
  17. I originally complained about this when it first appeared inside SOURCESS, but we cannot remove this functionality. If you want to create the ISO after removing the log file, set MAKENOISO=1 in HFANSWER.INI (read here!), then run HFSLIP again but type MAKEISO when you are asked to agree to the instructions.
  18. Which test version are you using? 70208a? I presume you haven't fully read the changelog for the latest release. KB929120 is blocked if it present in HF. A registry hack is included to satisfy Windows Update, but only if you include the latest cumulative time zone update, KB931836. You also probably mean KB928388 (as opposed to KB929388, which does not exist). This update was replaced yesterday by the newer KB931836. I don't know what could be causing KB920342 to fail to install on your computer. Could it be from using a few ENU updates instead of ESN? (1) WindowsXP-KB896344-v2-x86-ENU.exe (2) WindowsXP-KB925876-x86-ENU.exe Also, just as a sidenote, there is one IE7 update, KB928089, that you don't have in your HF folder. In addition, MSICabExtract.exe is obsolete.
  19. @Tomcat76, 70208a works without incident. Thanks!
  20. I believe keeping the list like that would make it very hard to read and much too bloated. I'm sure that is the reason why it has never been done. the_guy always keeps a changelog of what he does in his update lists. It's at the top of the first post. Maybe that will help?
  21. Hello, ykchanaed, and welcome to the HFSLIP forum! Are you putting in .NET 2.0? Like it says on that page, RyanVM's .NET 2.0 installer does not work from SVCPACK. Please read the topic posted by Tomcat76 regarding HFSLIP and .NET 1.1/2.0/3.0. Hope this helps.
  22. KB928388 is still required, so I assume you would need this new update in HF if you want to incorporate whatever changes were made. I'd be interested to find out what the actual changes are!
  23. Thanks. I will test it tomorrow.
