  1. Are you cloning from dos or WINPE ? If you're cloning from dos, you'll get a faster rate from WINPE because PE will use 32bits drivers. If you're cloning from PE, check the scsi drivers.
  2. Your problem may come from an irq sharing problem in your Bios. Check mother board manual wich pci slot share irq with the other video or another device. The goal is to get the agp video controler use one irq alone or none if possible (another setting in the bios) and do the same for the pci video controler. Also if your bios has a "pnp OS" settings set it to yes. If you can only find shared pci slot, you might try disabling serial port, paralel port and so on via bios to get it working and then enable them one by one later. Hope this helps.
  3. Aida if you have it or Everest should help.
  4. I have one 3ware 7506-8 and one 9500S-8. The 7506 cost about 400$ but you can find sometimes one on e-bay cheaper. The 9500S one is more expensive and cost about 650$, i got this one e-bay and paid a lot less. Anyway, i tried promise TX2000 (raid 0/1 hardware), LSI Megaraid IDE (up to 8 drives raid0/1/5/10) and lastest adaptec sata raid controllers (for HP proliant servers); most of them do their job but if you are looking for the performance with raid (at least 75% of perf of a standalone drive), you'll go for a 3ware or an adaptec: - LSI Megaraid could only deliver 10MByte/s in raid 5 configuration with either Windows or Linux. - Promise TX2000 can deliver at most 45MBytes/s in raid 1 configuration with either Windows or Linux and is tricky to get working with linux. - Adpatec SATA 21160 in raid 5 configuration deliver something like 20/25Mbytes/s with Linux i didn't tried with Windows. - 3ware7506 deliver 30/40Mbytes/s in raid 5 configuration with linux and 25/35Mbytes/s with Windows. - 3ware 9500S deliver 30/60Mbytes in raid 5 configuration with Windows. My choice of 3ware's controllers was made because i needed a good Windows and linux support and 3ware controller have been supported natively in linux kernels for long time (no need to patch or to load a lousy module without sources). I won't tell someone to absolutely buy a 3ware controller if he don't want a hardware raid5 and good perf. Sadly theese controllers are very expensive.
  5. It took 5hours to rebuild an raid 5 array of 1.8To with 7*300Go drives and a 3ware 7506-8 (ata133).
  6. To my knowledge, AMCC 3ware 9550 and 9500 serie are the best for performance but also the most expensive. They come with 3 years waranty and AMCC offer some interesting feature like advanced replacement.
  7. What is the iso size of this winpe 2.0 with explorer ?
  8. First, you need Sherpya XPE + Codecs Plugin for XPE/PnP. Add this Plugin for media player but it would be a lot of better to use VLC.
  9. Use the search function in 911cd forums you should find what you're searching.
  10. There are here some plugins for BartPe to have sound/directx/etc...in PE which might help you to make the MCE boot cd or dvd.
  11. Try to set the reg keys here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Session Manager\Environment This should solve your problem. To add some value, before burning your iso, do: -launch regedit - go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - do file, load hive, select setupreg.hiv which should be in I386\system32 folder - set a name as you like for example sys. - now go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYS\ControlSet001\Control\Session Manager\Environment - add the value like Albuquerque described.
  12. Here is some hint for network printing. Search in the bartpe forum if you want local printing there is allready a plugin which will do local printing.
  13. Yes if you want to get it working with Internet explorer. The alternatives like xchm wich i gave you a link are easier to add as you just need to add a few files.
  14. .Chm native support need Internet explorer or a least a web browser to run from PE using viewchm. Another way to get .chm support is to use xchm (unix gui to view .chm). To get this one to work you'll need to find either an already compiled version for windows or compile it yourself.
  15. It should be possible. There's a thread there for booting OS (nt-2k-xp 2k3) from usb. You might need to tweak some .oem or inf files to make it possible.

    RamDrive

You can find a ramdisk here. And information for using it with are described there.
  17. I want one if you still have one.
  18. You could try BCDW or CDshell instead of isolinux. They both are able to even chain boot some .iso. This could solve your main iso's filesystem compatibilities.
  19. Most probably your PE does not contains the drivers for the network adapter.
  20. I had this problem when i tried to ximage a full vista hd install. Every time i mounted this image i got problems exploring the mounted image. It even rebooted my XP when i tried to remove the programdata folder.
