so how are the stacks written.. are they like a libary of dll's and exe mapped together or one massive program??

so basically on updating the stacks it allows more integration of other devices yet simple use??

to be fair.. if you know what you are doing you can run Vista on a low end machine and still use all its cool features..being Aero Glass..and FLIP 3D...example look at my sig... apart from the graphics card..its a fairly average machine nothing special...now when i 1st installed Vista..booting up took atleast 3mins..and shutting down.. i gave up on lol....but i sat down one sunday evening and went through the services list..and did research...and disabled alot of services...and now boot takes 15sec max..shuttdown i dont bother since its on my main machine it always stays on..and also i can play a few selection of games using my onboard graphics which is quite an acheivement now your goin to say well services are required to keep the OS stable and sercure..to be frank not really..if you know what you are doing the by having a firewall/router and anti-virues installed its all the protection your gonna need

thats a good idea... but im not sure i may still upgrade.. sepends on my pocket..at the time.. because i going for the ultimate version...i also hope nuhi is prepared for this.. becasue once its relased.. th requests will be floodig in for nLite... think about it ppl av already requested some sort of version for Beta 2.. well i have anyway... the amount of services i have stopped incresed performance so much i can play games on my machine using th onboard graphics

is there any way the indexing rubbish can be stopped i cant find anything out about which services it relies on dx10 will be relesed on XP because it will also be still a popluar OS and microsoft wont risk product sales like that... they will release Vista hoping 6/10 ppl upgrade andthen a few months on release dx10 on XP.... to be fair i will not be playin games on Vista if i can help it... my nLited XP is amazingly quick so i will be keeping it for a long while

right well i have a hifi in my bedroom which has a output for a sub.. i tried to power it through the speaker connections but theres not enought power, and i cant find out the connection for the sub output.. its looks like the phono lead in da pic above but only 1 rca jack tbh i want this to work becase my 330w technics speakers jsut dont do it for me anymore.. and im also getting my room sound proof so im goin all out.. any spare audio equipment i got will be used.. now that i have finshed school for the year my goal is to build the most amazing audio center any bedroom has ever seen, but im a student so it means i dont have alot of money to spend!!

ok i have an amp and a sub how do i go about wiring them.. because one thing i no im oing to need 12v to my amp but im not sure how to achieve that!!

ok the sub isint in a box but that can be arranged.. i had the sub hooked up to an amp.. erm sub is like 15inch 500w what else do you need to know??

i thinks this fits under here.. if not im sorry... but i have a 500w sub i use in my car which is now obsolete because for my bday my gf brought me a whole alpine ice setup its v v vnice but now i want to use this sub in my bedroom... i seen some ppl do it.. but i cant find anything out on how to go about doing this can anyone help??

TBH Vista personally for me is a must... most proberly because of new hardware support and features.. but at this current stage in time Vista needs to be improved alot more... i cant access other computers on my home network at the minute i cant figure out why but hey... and there are alot more services built in which i feel make the OS bloated... i mean a prime example... when you open up a folder in windows explorer.. in the bar across the top a green progress bar goes accross... now what the hell is that... i cant seem to find out... i video edit alot.. and when opening a folder which uncompressed avi footage that progress bar takes the p***... i have also stopped alot of services so Beta 2 is usable as a main OS which i am using... i have 26 processes running 5 mins after boot up

On my laptop, ATi Radeon X700 Mobility Dx9 compa ATi published a WDDM driver Pixel Shader is OK afaik 32 bits color-depth 128MB of video memory So laptops can run Aero. I've not tested myself but I know someone with the same config whohas Vista beta2 installed, so I'll ask him. cheers... to be fair some laptops have small resultions, i feel aero wouldn't do them justice!!

ok right my bad.. but i did also get aero working on my inspiron 5150 laptop which had a 5200go 64mb card in there... it toook alot of messin around end results were good

Didn't work for my Dell Latitude D600 laptop ATI Radeon Mobility 9000) using Vista build 5384. hmmm im not sure but if someone can confirm.. i read somewere mobility cards arent compatible at this stage with glass!! but im sure i've also seen drivers around

well basically i have disabled and changed many services in beta 2 so i can get the ram usaged down i want to make beta 2 a primary OS so i will be removing XP of my computer i want to save all the services and there stats in a cmd file and when i install vista again i jsut want to load the file and reboot the computer and everyhing is done how can i perform this task??

yes it isGive This A Try I don't think this has worked in the last 7 months, since the December CTP.That same site has a forum and there is a post here with that very question, saying that only cards that support it will show it now. RAM doesn't have that much to do with Aero Glass, it's more the graphics card (and driver) requirements, something like DX9, Pixel Shader 2.0, 64MB graphics RAM (possiby 128MB for resolutions >1024x768), AGP 4x or faster, WDDM/LDDM driver. If you have PowerPoint there is a slideshow from Microsoft here. this does work i used it to enable aero on my laptop after driver installation messed up!!
