  1. Can you upload that minidump somewhere? Better still, configure your pc for a full memory dump, archive the resulting file and upload that as well.
  2. Obviously, but it will look 100% like the last one except for the graphics card and the RAM heatspreaders
  3. That is the file I was talking about. Please compress and upload it. Also, having a second look at the minidump with the !analyze -v option it looks that the fault comes from a driver, but cannot pinpoint it until I get my hands on the full dump. Waiting for your link now
  4. I`ve read your minidump but an error in ntoskrnl.exe could mean anything... As I said in my previous post, please configure your machine for a COMPLETE memory dump as described here: http://www.msfn.org/board/Creating-memory-dumps-t90244.html When you have the complete dump, compress it and upload it so we can have a look at it. Good luck!
  5. We have a couple of Konica`s. Rock-solid and good warranty, even if I live in Romania.
  6. Please configure your pc for a complete memory dump and insert valid links in your post.
  7. Parts arriving today and tomorrow... As i needed part of the budget for buying a new bike (a brand spankin` new Yamaha R1 ), I went for the following: CPU: Intel Q6600 (it served me OK and has plenty of juice for what I'm doing, not to mention the price is half of the Q9450) Mobo: Gigabyte GA-P35 DS3R (punto, the E version is not available in Romania yet...) RAM: Crucial Ballistix 4 x 2GB 1066MHz DDR2 HDD: 4 x 250GB WD SATA2 / 16MB PCI-E: nVIDIA 9800 GTX from EVGA (thank you maleko for your input on this ) DVD-RW: ASUS S-ATA black Case: Raidmax Ninja Black PSU: Spire 650W with active PFC (it`s ok for the parts above) Cooler: Thermaltake CL-P0025 Thanks to all who threw their $0.02
  8. Seeing that there are a lot of questions about how to remove vista from the multi-boot menu, I found this link @ M$ which describes what one has to do... Link: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/e...e027c01033.mspx
  9. Looking at your description, "Computer Technician", I assume you should know that right after starting up the computer with the Vista DVD in your DVD drive set as primary boot device you have to press F8 to get to the advanced Vista start-up menu where the Repair option is located...
  10. Thanks punto, will have to look local dealers to see if this mobo is available in romania. If it is, I`ll get it What do you say for the rest of the parts? Any comments? ripken, may I have your opinion too, please?
  11. SSD`s are way too expensive ATM
  12. After months of promises to upload some pics of my pc, I`ve sold it yesterday And as I need a new rig, I was thinking about the following configuration. Please have a look and feel free to throw your $0.02... CPU Intel Q9450 Mobo Gigabyte P35-DS3R (I've had it in my last rig, rock-solid mobo...) RAM 4 x 2GB DDR2 / 1066MHz (not sure about the manufacturer, probably will be going for either Mushkin or Patriot) HDD 4 x 250GB WD SATA2 / 16MB (neede for RAID10) PCI-E nVIDIA 9800 GTX (most likely from BFG) DVD-RW probably ASUS (or any other, I don't burn a lot of media) PSU Spire 650W active PFC Case Raidmax Ninja Black (the same as I had) Total budget is ~1300 EUR and the above is fitting
  13. I have read that sometimes the .ocx doesn't register itself properly on Vista (and I see that you are running Vista). I would say you uninstall the flash player activeX and reinstall it.You can find it in Programs and Features under Control Panel. Good luck!
  14. it's a switch
  15. Well, first off you will need a media converter to go from fiber to cat5 (or 6) cabling.
  16. That's a NO-NO ... 100 degrees Centigrades????
  17. Thanks Zxian for your appreciation... As for the 8GB of RAM, I use it for editing geographic maps in ArcGIS which is a RAM hog unfortunately (some layers go over 1.5GB in size and I might have 2 or 3 opened). And gaming too
  18. Right... So this is Nexus (with 3 HDD`s and the DVD-RW drive missing - sold out, don't ask , soon to be re-aaded to the setup). Pictures were taken with a crappy cam during a LAN party earlier today (might be the beer effect for the blur - shhhhh ) Thanks Zxian for hosting the pics PS. puntoMX, this is to keep my word I gave you a while ago...
  19. I would follow Tripredacus' advice. Start up in Safe Mode and see if the behaviour occurs again. I'm quite convinced there's something fishy in your start-up programs... If it runs OK in safe mode, download and run HijackThis and post the log here for us to have a look. Good luck!
  20. OT: Which reminds me to get my lazy bottom up and take some pictures of it and post them here...
  21. Frst off, welcome to THE forums! Secondly, please give us some more details, such as specs of the machine you are trying to install on... As you can see I am running Vista x64 on the machine in my signature with no issues at all.
  22. Are you trying to format it from Windows?
