Does it list the 4 SATA devices (as being "none"?) or does it only list IDE devices? In th boot list, does it appear with a denomination that would indicate it is properly recognized ? As your HDD and SSD are not plugged to the same controller, forget the last sentence in my previous post. Where did you find that "10.3..46" version ? Your motherboard's page on Asus site has a 1.0.0.4 version (from 2005), maybe that would work. The inf file says it's for PCI\VEN_10B9&DEV_5287 , 5288 and 5289.

You can't expect everyone to write 100 lines just to add a little precision. I had done a short calculation. The battery/power supply will not burn, nor is it very likely to. That was my point. 230v, 220v, 2500W, 1000W, alkaline 1.5v, rechargeable 1.2v, 2200mAh, 2500mAh, 6h30, 40h, a few hours, whatever, it will not burn.

ACPI and AHCI (not ACHI as you wrote it), have got nothing to do with each other. Does the install disc detect the HDD but not the SSD when one replaces the other ? (that's what I understand from your post???). The drivers are for the controller, not for the disc itself, that would indicate the drivers do work.

wow, this forum is so slow the last posts are that old... woops.

I know the thread IS about fans, but I intentionally separated that big chunk from the post because it starts with "specific device (fan)" then goes on with things like "a load" and "a device". I'd like to point out that those consideration are in fact all for that "specific device (fan)" (or a DC motor) as for instance Ohm's law would say a big "well no" to the 4th example in case of a resistor. An AA battery would power a 220v radiator for few hours without burning (in fact you'd die of cold before it burns) .

Try to write better english please. Not only do we have to read every sentence 3 times before undrerstanding what it says, there is still no understandable concept in what your post. See... it is hardwired in people's brain that someone who can't speak is not very bright and unfortunately, it is not easy to get over that in the context of someone using a language that is not his own. Beside that, -you don't "make a disk primary", you create a primary partition on a disk. -you don't "format a disk", you format a volume in a partition. -it is the definition of formatting that all files are gone, if not so, you haven't really formatted the volume or you see these files somewhere else or they are recreated after that by an OTHER process (unlikely as it happens with 2 different programs). -it is not clear at all what you mean by "makes like network disk" and "boot directory" please explain what you see and where you see it.

Try CDcheck, it's free for personal use (like nLite) and there is a portable version (means you copy it to a folder and there is no left over when you remove it). It will tell you if the media is damaged or unreadable (and which files). If it's only a handful of files, you might be able to copy them from the other CD (providing they are not tied to the XP version) after having copied things manually like you did the 1st time.
-
You mean "which I copied", right ? nLite is looking for specific files that it cannot find. Either your OS cd is incomplete (modded or warez) or you missed some files when copying. Point nLite directly to your CD (it can copy the files by itself to a folder of your choice) and see if it makes a difference or be sure you see and copy all the hidden files that are on the root of your original install folder. If still not ok, report what the sticker/label reads on your CD.

Yes, try burning the iso to a cd or cdrw..

Did you then have a "triple boot" (7, XP & 98) ? Or a dual boot (7 & (XP/98)) leading to a dual boot (XP & 98)? Or were you changing disk order in Bios to boot Win7 ?

Most car players read mp3/wma files now so unless yours is very old, why bother making an audio-cd ? I've played mp3s on cd-rw in my cars since at least 8 years, but I can't remember trying an audio cd-rw. The car I have now has a USB connector so I don't burn cd's anymore. That USB system even plays m3u playlists. I should try playlist on mp3-cd just for the sake of it. I'll report later.

Use any remote control software and stay away from the keyboard and mouse. Seriously, why can't you do just that ? You describe programs that can or cannot do what you want but you don't give precise description of what you actually want to do.

Directly connect two machines via phone cable?
Ponch replied to tgp1994's topic in Networks and the Internet
You do realize your "crappy" Wireless card might still give you 200 times the speed of that phone line, right ? That might get relevant ...later. -
Is this for professional use ?

Please confirm you are doing this; -copy your SP0 in a folder on your HDD, -apply SP3 to it (manually or with nLite, I think it does not create an ini file in this case). -run nLite loading your Last session.ini. I've had trouble playing with users as well but it was too long ago. What I would do is get rid of the _u file so it loads only the "last session.ini". I suspect loading the _u file with modified users then remodify that section is bugged, because nLite thinks you modify something that exists (your modified Admin name) when it does not. Your new admin should NOT appear (with or without password) on the users list, and I guess the builtin "administrator" still exists in your setup but ... doesn't show on that screen.
-
Are you starting from exactly the same set of files ? There is a known bug, I'm not sure it applies to your case. example; you have XP SP2, you choose "integrate Service Pack" and "Remove Components", you run nLite integrating SP3 and remove some languages or components that were added by SP3. the ini file is created with "add Serevice Pack" and "Remove language x". Next time you load your SP2 and that same ini file, nLite will check components that are not present and consider them as already removed, then adapt things to do (overrule the ini file), then proceed integrating SP3 then removing stuff according to the modified ini file then resave the new ini file. Your language x is not present at start and will not be removed, even if added in the middle of the process. Workaround is to integrate SP3 then proceed with a new nlµite session.
-
It shouldn't. Windows does have a path+name limitation, but then I don't see why it would work when entered manually. You must have changed something since the creation of the ini file. Attach (not paste) the ini file.

using nlite's run once command to copy a folder using a batchfile?
Ponch replied to KapnJackSparrow's topic in nLite
you use %HOMEDRIVE% in every line, I guess the install environment has no idea what it means. -
Check for any security feature added by new bios.

Not sure where you find that "Lock..." setting, but what you describe can probably be changed in Sytem Properties/Advanced/Settings/Visual Effects.
-
Can you be more precise about your goal ? Unlocker does a pretty good job and there is a portable version.

Let it go. From the 1st post, there was no way we could have guessed he was missing the very basic knowledge about what he was requesting help with (advanced settings, hidden system files, etc). I guess everybody lost a bit of time but it was good fun at the end. I'm done with this. Peace.

Thanks. It was more than implied in that post of mine (read full post). In fact, I still don't understand what else Snoopy55 was thinking to have achieved. To change that setting, you need to click on an "Advanced" tab twice. I'm still confused how advanced his knowledge of virtual memory is as the very first (if not the only) thing most people know about that setting is that it changes the place and size of the "Pagefile.sys", yet seing this was not the case, he was not impressed and still somehow suggesting something had changed somewhere in the ether and we had to prove him wrong. A bit like -How do I put a turbo on an electric motorbike? -bad idea, won't work -might sound crazy to you but I've done it on my electric car, now please help -can't be done because electric motors don't have exhaust and that's what turbo needs. Could work on hybrid cars. -your explanation is too complex, I checked for a hybrid bike but I can't find one. -I see it can be fastened under the hood but won't have any effect, is there any indication that the car is more powerfull? -no, but still I've done it, please prove that the car should be more powerfull if I place a turbo on the motor. -... err...right. Surrealism ... aahh...Belgium.
