  1. Robots don't sleep. With the new exe it does the reg keys needed for Office, impersonates Admin, disables the close button, etc. The hta is still there, the exe launches it with the proper 32/64bit mshta. The autorun to me just seems like it needs a custom program for every one. I don't know for sure if Kel stopped updating it. I myself would. The launcher takes care of all we need and is universal.
  2. You can do all of that via ToolTips. Enter your description like normal. For screen shot, use that on the Picture tab. Doesn't have to be the program's logo, can be anything, like a screen shot.
  3. Hmmmm.......I thought I fixed that. Are you using 7.7.0?
  4. It could be some new feature I added that is causing the hang. It could be the internet check. I will email you a debug beta today.
  5. I did some thinking on this, I don't see any reason it should fail. The reboot code has not been changed. Are you using the new wpi.exe launcher? I don't know anything about RIS systems so can't offer any real advice. I have thought about adding {REBOOT_LD}, reboot load desktop, so after a reboot it will wait until the desktop is loaded before WPI continues. That should allow the drive to be mapped again properly. This idea was mainly to load the user account for reg edits and such. Then you could do a regular {REBOOT} if wanted to and continue installing before desktop is loaded (normal way).
  6. Options -> General -> Number of columns The default is 3, so don't know how you for set to 1.
  7. You didn't say if you are on Vista or not, but when I download a JavaScript file from here or the 'net, Vista warns me like that. Right click -> Properties -> then somewhere there is a box to hit to Trust This File, and the warnings stop.
  8. The exe sets the reg keys for you, so don't do it twice. You did change your script from WPI.hta to WPI.exe, right?
  9. GPO method isn't available in Home versions, so the other is my answer. Thanks guys.
  10. That's what I thought. Thanks
  11. I am the programmer for WPI. I have made a "wizard" for XP to enable/disable Error Reporting. I want to do the same for Vista. I have found nothing in a Google search that deals with reg keys. Disabling the service is only a temp fix. Anyone know how to do this?
  12. I am the programmer for WPI. I have made a "wizard" for WPI that allows you to change how XP's Security Center warns you. I want to do the same for Vista. But, I can't seem to find out how. From my testing I don't think it is even possible, that the system has it locked. Am I right in thinking that?
  13. Download a new copy. The new exe is in there.
  14. He has the old MS Office reg key issue. He needs the launcher or reg key fix before launching WPI.
  15. Accordion: yes, like the instrument. Referring to Accordion theme. When side bars scroll up and down. The languages have been an issue for some time now. Some need UTF8, some don't. They all display correctly in text editor, but not in WPI. if you have an idea, let me know. Could it be the header in WPI.hta? Show Images in installer: the success checkmark, the fail X, next to items as being installed. Thanks
  16. I made a {JSCRIPT} wizard to edit how the Security Center warns you for XP. I made one for Vista, but seem to be locked out of the registry section. Probably for good reason. Anyone know how to edit these keys in Vista/Win7? Or is there a program/service that can do it from command line?
  17. getOSver() and getSPver() are not possibly since WMI is not on 95/98/ME. There may be some other way, but it would be a hack to check them. {DELDIR} can be added easily enough.
  18. It's not the internet check. I don't have blue tooth on my laptop so I can't test it. Anyone else have this issue?
  19. I was thinking the internet check, as well. Make sure it is not checked in the big combo dropdown box in Options -> General tab.
  20. Definetely will be beta tested. I laid out a JSON sample config.js file today....maybe it won't work the way I invisioned it. Still too early to tell.
  21. Never heard of this issue. When does it do it? From clean install or run from desktop? I need more details.
  22. I purposely didn't respond to the part where you said you would do the mod yourself. I sure am not going to do it. It just frustrates me when people volunteer to do stuff then don't follow through. I ask/post for help a lot and RARELY do I get a reply. But if I don't reply to someone's post, they rip my head off. Patience people. I have a life, too. Deadbug just made the perfect example for me: In the Classic thread he asked to have JSCRIPT features added. Where does it stop?! What should be taken out and what left in? Why not just use it the way it is? This kind of stuff makes me mad. Knock yourself out, make a Lite version. All you can really take out are graphics. I'm with Grake, I'm not here to argue. Go for it. Follow the rules.
  23. If you are that anti-progress, use WPI Classic. It has none of the new features/improvements so you can still live in the past. Sorry for the sarcasm, but I really don't see why people complain when the size has grown 2MB. If 2MB is all you have left on a 4GB dvd, then it may be time to clean out your config. If anything, you should be embracing the new versions since I am building in a lot of new features to make your life easier. Do you say the same thing about nLite? "nLite has way too many options to remove things. This is just too bloated for me. I'm going to stop here and never upgrade. I can't handle all these check boxes and radios!" Doubt it. "This car is too fast for me. What are all these buttons? I want a boring mini-van with an AM radio." I am not going to stop improving WPI. I am not going to rip out all of my hard work. If you like the older versions, don't upgrade. Simple as that.
