  1. Me too. From the looks of it, it seems its missing a couple functions in NTDLL.DLL. 1. The NSLOOKUP.EXE is linked to missing export NTDLL.DLL:sscanf 2. The WSHIP6.DLL is linked to missing export NTDLL.DLL:strlen
  2. Yes you have the latest. I was going to upload the same version because I thought maybe the installer got corrupted. I'll repost the latest version. Link is in signature
  3. What option did you use? Do you have IE6 installed? Sorry for your troubles, but did you read the instructions or did you just install?
  4. Updated
  5. Thanks I needed the green light, and you just gave it to me.
  6. Can anybody confirm this? I see no difference between Opera 10.10/10.63
  7. Extended Character Map v1.41 http://www.pricelesswarehome.org/WoundedMoon/win32/extendedcharactermap141.html
  8. Updated
  9. Did you download the latest version http://www.mediafire.com/?udokcy3suraan3b
  10. The main reason they were put there in the first place was because of Windows updates. I figure since Windows updates is obsolete the reg keys would be too. But as you said no harm no foul either way. Thanks
  11. Since Win98SE updates page from Microsoft doesn't work any more, do we need these reg keys in the SP? ;238453 HKLM,"%InstalledComp%\{12e9e220-7101-11d3-824e-0000f80697e6}",,,"Windows 98 Second Edition 12. Hey Drugwash, If you look inside IE_S3.CAB, inside of this cab is another cab named IE_3.CAB. The MSXML files are there. Also because I use the web installer only the core files get installed, which is what I like a lite system.
  13. Well, Drugwash, IMO what blorked your system was the .inf inside USB20DRV. Of course the files it contains are OK for your system, provided USBSTOR.INF is edited to load WDMSTUB.SYS with USBSTOR.SYS. Now, adding the untested (AFAIK) USBSER.SYS from XP SP3 didn't help any, either. Fact is, I tested it with WDMCHECK.EXE, and it turns out to have the same 3 unsatisfied dependencies that the USBSTOR.SYS (v. 5.0.2195.6773) from USB20DRV has. On the bright side it means it should work, provided it's also loaded with WDMSTUB.SYS, and this means finding the .inf that sets its registry entry and editing it too. The downside is it may be more than one .inf... USBSER.SYS is for the USB virtual serial port, which is mostly used to support USB modems, AFAIK. Here's a screenshot of WDMCHECK's output: What about USBSER.SYS SP1 or SP2?
  14. I have a test build ready with USB 2.0 support. Its only for testers. Please PM if you would like to test it.
  15. Why, exactly? Because IE5 files was removed and to avoid errors you must have IE6 installed, not updated, but installed.
  16. Updated
  17. I think you enough devices for testing. hopefully I will get started on it sometime this week. I'm still going to release an update today. I want to call it final incase I don't get the usb properly working. But if I do get USB support, I can always change the text in the files.
  18. I just looked inside the NUSB package and all files from USB20DRV are included. The only thing I would have to do is load HKR,,NTMPDriver,,"wdmstub.sys,USBSTOR.SYS by default. I'm going to try and add it. I need a tester with multiple USB devices, because I won't release this to the public unless I know for sure its stable.
  19. 20. I'm going to use rloew's patch. Thanks guys. Today is the day.
  21. I just tried rloew CDFS.VXD patch, it works but not on the modified version. So far the only files I have that needs to be patched are Patched CDFS.VXD from rloew unique patch script Patched COMDLG32.DLL from http://www.netcult.ch/elmue/ElmueSoft-en.htm Patched IO.SYS from rloew unique patch script Patched MPR.DLL from http://www.mdgx.com/
  22. Here are some patches that I'm going to add to my own personal service pack. If you guys want these patches let me know. I would patch the file first, then add it to the service pack. http://www.mdgx.com/files/PASSLOCK.ZIP this is for MS Outlook/Express http://www.netcult.ch/elmue/ElmueSoft-en.htm scroll down to FileOpenPatcher http://www.sonicspot.com/alternatecdfsvxd/alternatecdfsvxd.html
  23. I found a small not so major bug. I just did a clean install testing the final version and, I was told by windows that the version WINASPI.DLL 4.6.0.1021 was older than the original. Please click ignore if you get this prompt. Everything went smoothly afterwards. Final build will be release tomorrow.
  24. nice if someone can improve this patch. Also I will be adding rloew patch if he don't mind One last thing, I was wondering if anybody can look at the
  25. Thanks The last and final update will include from MDGx site. ATL70A.DLL ATL71A.DLL MFC70.DLL MFC70U.DLL MFC71.DLL MFC71U.DLL MSVCI70.DLL MSVCP70.DLL MSVCP71.DLL MSVCR70.DLL MSVCR71.DLL I'm sorry that I wasn't able to add the 4 usb packages, let me explain why. NUSB.EXE - it works with some of my usb devices but not all. USB20DRV.EXE - needed to run side by side with NUSB.EXE. WIA11.EXE - I don't have a scanner so I can't test this. X360C.EXE - it works when I have both NUSB.EXE + USB20DRV.EXE + HKR,,NTMPDriver,,"wdmstub.sys,USBSTOR.SYS has to be loaded in order for it to work. Thats just too much trouble. But if someone can combine the 2 NUSB.EXE + USB20DRV.EXE we might have something. Other than that, the only things that's not added are Internet Explorer DirectX 9 Microsoft Data Access Components .NET Framework Soon you guys will be able to enjoy a fully updated 98SE SP. Thanks to Gape for starting the foundation
