Which file system do you use? Do you use UDF only ? Do you use ISO9660 UDF bridge? Which install.wim file size do you use? Adding a 2.6GB file \install\empty26.bin and a default install.wim oscdimg.exe -u2 -m -b.\boot\etfsboot.com . ..\w7.iso DVD does boot, setup finds DVD and installation does finish. VirtualBox virtual controller dosn't match a real controller. Ask VirtualBox to update virtual controller. Don't use VirtualBox to test SATA drivers currently. Use real hardware.

Clean the hard disk. Press shift F10, run diskpart, list disk, select disk N, clean. Boot win7 media again.

Both chipset support IDE drives only. Most likely there is no SATA connector available. NEC BIOS maybe limited to 28 bit LBA.
