@kentk - No Frontpage, just Excel, Word and Powerpoint - thats all I use.
When and how I do the install? Actually I do a nLite install of Win XP Pro, boot
and clean up a bit. Then I do an unattended install of all the rest from another hdd.
The officepart just looks like this
start /wait F:\XP\XP-Install\Office2003\Office2003sp3.exe
Which runs the winrar "exe-packed" package with the Officeinstall and commands
inside.
Hope that this clears it up!

Why use apps - just do it Yourself.
This way also gives You more control...
Start with a fresh (gold) original cd make an admin install and slip SP3 into it.
Finnish of with a touch of ork.exe and make a custom .mst file
and have the install Your way.
My special recipe is packing everything into a rar.exe file with the right instructions
all You have to do is click the file and everything install just the way You want it.

Finally... got it working!
Method - this time I did not include any chipset or storagedrivers
in the install - afterwards I added what I needed... after trying
a lot of combinations of drivers...
Usually I use nLite...
Thanx for all the tips!

@ripken204 - thats a valid question!
7 bars across the screen, time from boot to 7 bars end is 60 s.
After that it takes another 80 s until WinXP is ready to be used.
It´s really these 80 s that annoys me most - the complete boot
was quicker on my old machine.
There is no firewall installed (yet), so that is not the problem.

Looks nice - but at $29.95 (US) it should...
Is there a free solution to this problem?

Hello ladies and gentlemen - first time for me in this subforum, but I just finished putting my
new rig together and I have a performance question.
Should booting from a SATA drive into XP Pro take significant longer time than booting from
a IDE drive?

Does anyone have an opinion of the difference in speed
between a nicely nLite´d Win XP Pro and a vLite´d Vista?
Big thanx in advance!

Now running Office 2003 - in the future running Office 2007???
The goal is to be able to do the same I do today - that is -
slipstreaming in updates and configure installations like I do
with Office Resource Kit (ORK).
Which suite will be the mini working suite?
Basic
Home & student
Standard
Small business
Professional
Ultimate
Professional plus
Enterprise

@the_guy
Please check Your last post against what You added in the first "UPDATE LOG" concerning the WinXP SP2 entries... I do not think they match...
