  1. yes look at the Buildnumber. 8400 = RP. Paul Thurrott wants traffic for his site? I don't know.
  2. Windows 8 needs a CPU with PAE/NX Bit and VT enabled and your CPU needs SSE2 support. Otherwise it won't work.
  3. set the startyp to manual/on demand and not disabled.
  4. there are still issues: DPC: Total = 11198 for module ndis.sys Elapsed Time, > 1024 usecs AND <= 2048 usecs, 2, or 0.02% Elapsed Time, > 2048 usecs AND <= 4096 usecs, 14, or 0.13% Total = 69923 for module nvlddmkm.sys Elapsed Time, > 16384 usecs AND <= 32768 usecs, 2, or 0.00% Total, 69923 ISR: so also try other GPU drivers. the usbport issue is gone.
  5. can you update it for the Win 8 RP ADK?
  6. ClassicShell still works:
  7. Performance under Virtualbox sucks a bit. IE crashes all the time. I'm installing the VS2012RC now. ADK setup crashes all the time... Visual Studio 2012 setup also crashes
  8. Enterprise = Pro + 6 features: http://windowsteamblog.com/windows/b/business/archive/2012/04/18/introducing-windows-8-enterprise-and-enhanced-software-assurance-for-today-s-modern-workforce.aspx
  9. the script works fine. Well done! good job
  10. DPCs for USBport are too high. Update the Logitech G9 Laser Mouse software and connect it to a different USB port. There are still some NDIS spikes, so try to completely disable/remove Hamachi and update the network card drivers. 1 large DPC and 2 ISR spikes are caused by the nvidia driver. The 301.42 may be too new. For older cards like your NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 try older drivers. The new ones are often only optimized for the latest generation (GTX680).
  11. why do you start a new thread?
  12. Looks like you forgot the add the Edition flag while capturing the Enterprise. I can't see it. Maybe this is the cause.
  13. the new trace has lost events Run this instead: xperf -on latency -stackwalk profile -buffersize 1024 This should prevent lost events.
  14. nice script! Can you add the option to click the entries and to to the KB page?
  15. Looks like your network adapter is the cause. So update the driver for your realtek network adapter. Also make sure you sue the latest Hamachi version. Do you play Diablo with Hamachi?
  16. The key is named HiberFileSizePercent and is located under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power. reboot your PC after changing the value
  17. nice to hear that everything works now
  18. yes, it works fine for me. I've checked what my typical workload is and this is 2GB. So I added 1GB as reserve/buffer and so I have no issues Imagine you have 16GB RAM and with the default 75% you waste 12GB of HDD space for the hibernation file. And even with 50% you have a 8GB file. This is bad
  19. It can be done, but not with the powercfg tool. Change the percent value in the registry and reboot. I set my percentage to 37% and now I have a hibernation file with 2.95 GB when using 8GB RAM. @GrofLuigi use legos tool to remove unneeded packages like Hyper-V drivers, TV tuner drivers.
  20. VirtualBox 4.1.16 (released 2012-05-22) Download: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads
  21. have you renamed the kernel.etl to DPC_interrupt? You must run the 2nd command and give me this file. From your current trace I can see that Google Chrome causes high HDD usage and this causes ATAport.sys Interrupts. Install the latest SATA drivers, look if your laptop supports running AHCI instead of IDE and check the HDD with chkdsk.
  22. MSFT is an island and they have no idea what the rest of the world is. Steve Ballmer thinks that 1 year after Win8 shipped 500Million users use Windows 8   http://www.winsupersite.com/article/paul-thurrotts-wininfo/ballmer-500-million-windows-8-users-2013-143161 But I can only laugh when I read this. Unbelievable this stubbornness in Metro and Win8.
  23. use the Win7 Sp1 x64 list.
