  1. That matter's been covered in numerous other threads. It's an SP2 bug. EDIT: They're for the Indeo codec, BTW.
  2. Yes, those would be the indeo codecs. I believe they are in SP1 and not SP1A. (You did not believe JVM was really the only difference, did you?) Yeah, they're gone from SP2 as well, but I think the installer forgets to remove the corresponding txtsetup.sif entries when slipstreaming Oh well, I've already submitted the bug report on it, so hopefully it gets fixed.
  3. And if you really want to get crazy, you can actually integrate the 478 patch into the source MSI so you don't have to run it separately.
  4. I aim to please . And yeah, compressing them does yield a very nice space savings, especially when you're compressing 120MB down to 25MB. Of course, that's likely to be lowered soon once I confirm my suspicion that monitors don't install even if their INF is present. No sense in having those things taking up space (and 1500+ files in the archive) if they're not doing anything.
  5. I personally haven't had much luck silently installing Creative drivers (though I'm on the verge of attempting a direct slipstream of the drivers through OEMPnPDriversPath in winnt.sif). If it works, I can help you do that. As for ATI Catalyst drivers, there's again issues with that. Supposedly an ISS file works for that, though. Reference the drivers page at http://unattended.msfn.org for more info on the matter.
  6. GM, I think you need to download a newer version of my pack. I noticed too that your xpcreate.cab is a bit outdated.
  7. There's a pinned thread about it in the Drivers forum as well. Look for the one started by me.
  8. Nope. If there was, I would have told you. The easiest way is probably the file in my sig, like I said before.
  9. They're the same thing. PM me for a link to NTFS.sys you can use (I can't attach it to this message).
  10. I'm betting you're using SP2 as well, aren't you. If you are, it's a bug with that. If you aren't, then I don't know . EDIT: I'm serious about that being a bug. Others of us have reproduced it when slipstreaming SP2. It's mentioned in the SP2 Bugs thread in the WindowsXP Forum.
  11. Good if you're only installing on one computer. Bad if you want a generic CD you could use on any computer.
  12. http://greenmachine.msfnhosting.com/READING/addraid.htm Or to make your life easier, just downoad the package in my signature and follow the directions in the readme.
  13. That's impossible. Every beta SP2 build has had the option to backup files greyed out, so unless you deleted the $NtUninstall$ folder from the Windows directory, you should be able to remove it. You can try putting RC1 on top of it with the directions in the thread two below this one, but you're going to have the same issues ininstalling that one. Your best bet is probably a fresh format.
  14. Yes it can be done. No, I forget how off the top of my head. I think there's a %PROFILESDIR% or something similar global variable that can be changed. Do a search in the main unattended forum, I think the topic's been covered there before.
  15. I will as soon as RC2 comes out (and I've verified that WPA won't screw me over like 2120 did)
  16. Guys, it's a KNOWN bug. I'm an SP2 beta tester. MS closed my bug report as a DUPLICATE BUG THAT'S BEEN FIXED FOR THE NEXT RELEASE. Yes, it's spotty. Heck, 2120 actually managed to install once for me without issues on a computer that other times wouldn't take it (same VLK for both installs). People were even saying that they were able to log off and back off enough times that XP would eventually stop complaining about being activated. IT'S A BUG THAT WILL BE RESOLVED. STOP MAKING MORE OF THIS THAN IT IS.

Should be the same as a regular command prompt. As for configuring it, I'm not sure exactly how. A good way to find out would probably be with a registry snapshot program. I like Advanced Registry Tracer personally. http://www.elcomsoft.com/art.html
  18. No, path length has nothing to do with it. The problem is that he's got a quotation mark at the beginning of the path and not at the end of it.
  19. I think SP1 removed it, since there's a hotfix for SP1 to give it back Apparently it's still gone in SP2, but there's a bug in the patcher and it's not being removed from txtsetup.sif. Ah well, I've got a bug report submitted so I guess we'll see MS has to say about it
  20. Yeah, same problem as 2120. I wouldn't expect it to be fixed before RC2 (I put zero stock in leaked builds).
  21. Is there a way to have the Advanced options always on by default? It gets annoying to always have to hit that little dropdown every time I do a search to have it search the system files and such (yes, I've already got those checked by default).
  22. If you know about VirtualPC, then I suggest you use it. You can download a 45 day trial from their website. And relating back to your other thread, this problem could very well be being caused by a bad slipstream. Try using the SP1a slipstreaming method and see how that works for you.
  23. I've never played with the /integrate flag, so I have no clue on that matter. I'd personally stick with the tried and true -S method for the time being. But yeah, with SP2 integrated, you won't need ANY of the old hotfixes or related files anymore.
