Unattended Asking me for the Sp1 CD...
edg21 replied to ceez's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
You can get that file by slipstreaming SP1 into a original copy of winXP And yes you do need it in order for it to not ask for the cd. -
Any idea what this could be caused by? I am using the hacked uxtheme.dll, but it has never cause me problems before. I've slipstreamed the hotfixes into the install using webmedic's lil batch file, that all worked fine on my last test install. Only thing new I've done this time is edit the WINNTBBU.DLL file as per the pinned topic. I've tried replacing that file with the original & rebooting... no go. I've tried restoring the uxtheme.dll... no. I've created a user acct using NET USE... that acct has the same symptoms. Does this ring a bell for anyone? Screens: Desktop 1 <- btw... that's my computer that I opened there Desktop 2

what can i still remove from my xp pro iso?
edg21 replied to SirEvan's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I'm assuming it's USA english & I'm not quite sure what that would do to keyboard layouts... I only use USA English w/standard layout, it would be interesting to know if it effected the keyboard layouts though.... -

You can remove the LANG, WINNTUPG, & WIN9XUPG directories from i386 if you only want to install in english & never want to update a win9x/2k/NT box. My ISO is currently 552mb with the following applications being included: WinRAR v3.20 Corporate Edition DirectX v9.0b Windows Media Player 9 Alcohol 120% v1.46.711 Multi-Language Retail Ahead Nero 6.0.0.15 Ultra Edition Hacked UXTHEME.DLL Kazaa Lite K++ Edition v2.4.2 K-Lite Codec Pack FULL (includes BSPlayer v0.8) QuickTime Alternative v1.11 RealPlayer Alternative v1.04 Media Player Classic Total Commander v5.51 Microsoft JavaVM - Build 3809 Microsoft JavaVM Update to 3810 Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1 SecureCRT v4.08 Winamp v2.91 Full mIRC v6.1 XNEWS 5.04.25 And the latest Detonator & Catalyst drivers -

Edit "D:\XPCD\prep\4" to match your setup in my case it was "G:\prep\4" :: extract hotfix to extract folder thisis for newer style hot fixes for /f "usebackq delims==" %%i in (`dir /b 2\*.exe`) do echo 2\%%~ni.exe /Q /T:D:\XPCD\prep\4 /C >> 2$x$.cmd call 2$x$.cmd del 2$x$.cmd :: extract hotfix to extract folder thisis for newer style hot fixes for /f "usebackq delims==" %%i in (`dir /b 3\*.exe`) do echo 3\%%~ni.exe /Q /T:D:\XPCD\prep\4 /C >> 3$x$.cmd

I know that I can just copy over the MIRC directory, but upon doing that whenever I run MIRC on the newly installed computer it pops up an annoying "please register" type window. I already have a registered copy of MIRC, does anyone know of a way to silently register mirc also?
-
You edited the same part that I did I'm testing it now....
-
I know the difference between overwriting & missing The "missing" files were shown in the command prompt window, & I did tell it "YES TO ALL" in the popup that asked me but anyways I'm testing it now so we'll see
-
Poking now.... could you please post a copy of the do.cmd that you edited? ok well, now that I don't get any popup window errors, I get errors in the batch file... says it can't find a bunch of files... when the window popped up asking if I wanted to overwrite files.. I hit yes... and it's compressing as we speak. Is the batch file supposed to spit out errors about not being able to find files?
-
I get 4 popup windows reporting errors: Windows Script 5.6: That folder is invalid Please make sure the folder exists and is writable. Windows Media Update 819639: That folder is invalid Please make sure the folder exists and is writable. MS Internet Explorer Update: Please make sure the folder exists and is writable MS Internet Explorer Update: Please make sure the folder exists and is writable Now that I'm thinking about it, I can see why the 819639 won't install, I would have to have Windows Media Player 9 installed for that... so I will take that one out. But I'm still confused as to the other errors. In my cd I have \$oem$\$$\system32\unrar.exe by placing unrar here, windows setup copies the file during installation. my apps are located here: \$oem$\$1\install\apps.rar command line I use to extract: unrar x %systemdrive%\install\apps.rar %systemdrive%\install then I run my apps.cmd file to install my applications

I believe Terminator3 has them on his site: http://www.xp-win2k3mods.netfirms.com/

No, I simply posted a way for someone to do it if they wanted to I personally don't really care what it looks like The whole point of an unattended install is just that... it's unattended.

err...html is already in the registry because it comes with windows as default. Opening an htm or html file would require opening internet explorer & there isn't much point in doing that I mean it's nice that it looks cool & all... but the whole point is that I won't be there to see any of it
