  1. For some reason, I feel like this should be easyl, but I'm lost. I want to be able to click a link on the right side of the page and have some content appear on the left side. An example is here. Just without the calendar, just regular links on the side. If anyone can help with this, it would be MUCH appreciated! Thanks a lot!
  2. I'm having a few problems. Running XP Pro SP2, all updated and everything. I've noticed that some applications won't close. For example, NeroVision, when I close it, I get an error report and then another one from Dr Watson. NeroVision stays open in the task manager, and I first have to close one of the two instances of Dr Watson (usually the one taking up less memory) before NeroVision will close (if I try to kill it manually it simply does not do anything). Another one I just found today is iTunes when I tried to install the Multi-Plugin. The Plugin would kill iTunes every time I tried to start it, but again, Dr Watson came up with an error report as well, and I had to close Dr Watson (less memory) to be able to close iTunes. Also, the installer for MultiPlugin will not close. At all. Even if Dr Watson is gone. The only reason I don't think this is app-specific is because of Dr Watson f***ing up on both apps. Is there any way to just disable the Dr, or is something else wrong?
  3. Hey all, I lost my CD and can't find the drivers for my Dazzle DVC 80. All I can find on the Pinnacle website is if I have my Studio 8 serial number, which I obviously dont -- I won't want Studio, just the drivers to make the thing work. All I can find on other websites is the XP patch...the patch won't do good without drivers. Any help would be great.
  4. It's too big to post here, but here's the link: screenshot I think the funniest thing about it is that '17 out of 17 people found this image helpful". I love it.
  5. A buddy of mine formatted an HD of his (just a low-level windows format), and now he wants stuff off the drive, it hasn't been touched since the format, so is there any way to get the stuff back? A piece of software you would recommend?
  6. Yeah, I really have no use for the server side of it, just looking to un-bloat my system as much as possible. Thanks for all the replys!
  7. I was wondering if someone could help me with this, finding a PHP script if possible... What I'm wanting is a directory tree, where users can check off files they want and the files are delivered to them in ZIP format, or sent to a folder on their hard drive (even better). This is for LAN only, personal use, etc... I just don't want the drag-and-drop user interface, as people will be retrieving multiple files from many different folders. Thanks!
  8. I probably won't worry about it then, I haven't any desire for more speed anyway, unless it would have been a drastic improvement. Thanks for the help!
  9. I have a question -- I've been reading the article on converting 2003 to a workstation, but my question to you is...why? Do you still use it as a server? Is there a large speed increase over XP?
  10. So I could use this to 'stream' audio from FL straight into Acid? That actually sounds cool. Thanks for the help! lock?
  11. I have around 50 MB of webspace I can donate, and make a small page for. If the legal matters get sorted out and we get a good word from them, just PM me or something.
  12. Alright, I just had a quick question. I use both Sony Acid Pro 6 and FL Studio, but when I start FL while Acid is running, I get this 'ReWire' thing. Wth is it, and is there any way to get rid of it or do I just have to close Acid before I open up FL?
  13. Got it now, just used CDIMAGE instead. Lock please!
  14. That was when it started rebooting, I would press any key and it would reboot. On the second DVD I burned after recreating the image, it would start Setup but ask me for the XP cd after saying 'Press F2 to run ASR'
  15. Alright, so, all I want to do is take my ISO of my XP Pro disk, add a folder called 'Applications' and burn it to a DVD. I've tried this twice, the first time I got a 'Press any key to boot from CD..." message, and after that it would just reboot. Second disk asked me to insert the XP Pro disc before it would even load setup. I don't know what's happening. My ISO without the folder and on a DVD boots fine in VMWare. I'm just burning it using Nero, what gives? Basically, how do I transfer my bootable CD into a bootable DVD? Ive been using nLite with no luck.
  16. Thanks, RJARRRPCGP. I wouldn't expect that to happen on a PC purchased from Compaq (or any other commercial PC for that matter). A bit of a family crisis is happening though, so we can't take care of it at the moment but thanks for all the help!
  17. All I did was rip my XP cd and add a folder called 'applications' on it, and used nLite to make a bootable ISO, and now when I try to boot from it, (it is now on a DVD burned with nero after making the iso in nlite), it asks me for the XP professional cd after the "press f2 to run automated system recovery' message. I forgot to mention, I also added the product key in the unattended setup portion.
  18. Alrighty, thanks for the help. I'm going to try to tell hew how to put in a new one over the phone (wish me luck).
  19. I had trouble checking _my_ email. haha.
  20. If by that you mean power strip, then she has one (that is a surge protector). I'm afraid her proc is bad, just because of it not even starting that up. And she can't even find the model number (ugh) so I can't get on Compaq support.
  21. What I was trying to say was that my mother (not knowing anything about computers) just thought it was a good deal because that's what the commercial told her. I'm saying that in my opinion, Dell takes advantage of people who don't know anything about computers except how to check their e-mail, and sells them a cheap computer knowingly.
  22. My biggest problem with Dell is their misleading advertising. Remember back when they had that $299 Dimension 2400? My mom bought that as a new family PC (without consulting me, the tech guru of the house). The ads didn't say that the Celeron is one of the worst processors of it's day, and 128 MB of RAM is hardly enough to run Windows XP (which is what it was shipped with). So, I guess everyone speaking of Dell's 'target audience' is talking about people that don't know s*** about computers.
  23. This is kind of an emergency, so any response is appreciated ASAP! My mother has a Presario 6000, and apparently she was just using it and the monitor suddenly went into Power Save mode and she couldn't even hold the button down to shut it off, so she turned off the power strip and now when she tries to turn the computer on, the power light flashes red. I can't really troubleshoot it since I'm away at school, but I didn't find anything on Google. She said her proc fan doesn't even spin or anything, I'm thinking some bad RAM maybe? Feedback is appreciated.
