You should read this page again : http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;835221 It seems the hotfix does not apply to SP2. I found a post from BTS and the hotfix you want is here : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888111/en-us

The one with no timestamp is the most recent. The one with the most recent date is in fact the same as the one without any date. That's what I know. Why not check the properties of the files ?

Edited the wiki page. I will add the SmartUI thing later except if someone does it before me. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=71138 Also, thanks to the person who added Text-To-Speech.

I left it blank, I didnt choose 'blank password' and I was never asked for password during installation It maybe depends on the unattended mode you selected. I tried leaving it empty, and nlite used the fullname 'Owner' :S Check in i386\winnt.sif (plain text file) if there is anything like that. If not, it's windows's fault. ok, nlite should warn at least though... Possibly : a warning if you left 1 or 2 fiels empty ? Not a bad idea.

You can probably add this file by hand but you should care about the error message : the hotfix will maybe simply refuse to install during setup. On which OS do you want this to be installed ? Which service pack ? Which language ? ...

Two things about WM1Lite: 1- latest package extracts each needed file, then registers msdxm.ocx and then says "impossible to load C:\WIN\SYSTEM32\dxmasf.dll". Package is not corrupted (checked with 7z) and the file is present in SYSTEM32. During installation, after having registered wmvsdecd.dll, it says "impossible to find a symbol : DllRegisterServer" and then "Error in the creation : C:\Programs\Multimédia\WMLite11\uninstall.exe". However, if I create the folder myself there is no problem. I guess it is not created by the installer. 2-There is nothing in \WMLite11 ! Only the uninstaller. It would be better to add uninstall.exe in SYSTEM32 or Windows with a name like "uninstallWMLite11.exe" and not to ask the user choose a folder that is not used in fact. Also, it is still not working on my computer (XP has been reinstalled). I am running XP SP1a. Could it be the reason ?

For some reasons (too long to explain), I've visited mkisofs page last friday. http://www.andante.org/mkisofs.html I don't know what the "late" in "late beta testing" means but it may explain why you have problems with mkisofs and Joliet. Also, PeBuilder does not seem to use this switch (on the CD all filenames are uppercase and ....). It should be a good idea to ask on pebuilder's board.

Thanks a lot. And, sorry to hijack. If you want to restore some components you have removed with nlite, first check this page : http://www.uawiki.org/doku.php?id=wxp:reduce:restore (which will be expanded and cleared soon). And now, nlite 1.1 beta ?
-
Afaik it will do this but on its own.

Voted. But won't tell for who.

"whats the difference with blank password and leaving password field blank?" If the field is blank, you will be asked for a password during install. "some fullnames are forbiden, eg user, administrator etc, but when I set 'user' in nlite, no warning pops up, what will really happen?" As far as I know, you will be asked to enter a valid name. However, if have chosen the ********* (1) unattended mode, what you entered in nlite will be used even though it is not good. (1) means I don't remember the name but in nlite, next to unattended mode, there is a button with all the information you may need. "if I create fully unattended but I dont choose timezone, it will not be unattended" Not nlite's fault. And why are those Pringles boxes so deep ? Anyway, I just got sick.

[requesting :: Filled] some add ons
Camarade_Tux replied to dirtwarrior's topic in Application Add-Ons
DX9 is a big file but it also contains updates for 9x afaik. You can reduce it by 50% by removing these. -
I forgot about that. Maybe just stick with the Wiki then you think??? Anyone can edit that, correct? (i never used one before). It's not a problem, nobody ever saw it. Maybe because of the cows. And, yes, exactly, everyone can edit that. I think this is especially useful for such projects because sometimes one stops updating his list and then, only a mod can add something unless you're using a wiki. The annoying thing is things in signatures don't appear in search results (next time, I'll try to hijack main thread ). Maybe we could have a topic with a link to the wiki and where users could post help requests because the wiki page still lacks a few entries I have absolutely no idea about (BT and Alerter for instance). Also, I'll try to edit the page this afternoon according to what I learned recently. It should be clearer.

914718 problem solved with second release of this hotfix. Thanks the_guy.

Also, if I put modded sfcfiles.dll in APPREPLACEMENT, I'm not asked whether I want to remove cat files or not. Not a big thing but always nice.

It may be my fault : I don't have the corresponding hotfix ! I'd swear I downloaded everything. I'll post a feedback in a few minutes. And then, HFNetChk should also Since HFNetChk doesn't complain about any file version for this hotfix, it shows the_guy is right : all binaries are replaced. edit : TC, you removed 839645 from your list. It's possible HFSlip only adds the line if the hotfix is present. >checked, from latest test release: IF EXIST HF\*839645* ECHO>>WORK\HFREGWU.TXT HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\ProtocolDefaults","shell",0x10001,0 Is there a single HF that replaces 839645 or are the files overwrittent by several different HFs ? Is it possible to access files properties and version with batch ? If not, I can write a small app in a few minutes to return such infos.
-
Ok. Thanks. I'll try right now, while my dead hard drive is cooling down. *rip* or rather *living dead*

With latest test version and latest windows script, I still get the same report from HFNetChk. Patch NOT Installed MS04-024 Q839645 The registry key **Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\ProtocolDefaults\shell** does not exist. It is required for this patch to be considered installed. Patch NOT Installed MS06-011 Q914798 The registry key **SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows XP\SP2\KB914798** should have a value of 2. It has a value of 1. And the other ones with file version greater than expected. Looks OK to me. B)

The service that lets you burn without normal credentials ? No.

IPX support is so easy to add again. And it's strange how evrybody wants IPX only for RA2. ^^ Of course it's better not to remove things you may need. I am using a 120MB iso and there's no component I miss. However, one day, it is possible I need one again. Not sure, but possible. I'll see how I can help once my HD backup is done (first, I need to boot on something that lets me access my HD and my NIC card )

I wonder what would happen with something like n=3 VirusFound : IloveYou.Tchernobyl ? Thanks ggf31416 we know what AV should not be trusted. B)

Have you checked this : http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=297172 ? The idea is to remove as much of WMP as possible and then to reinstall a codec pack.
