i believe the sp is best just a hotfixes patch etc installer.its already 15mband beside if people want apps then this sp would ballon into what win 98 plus lol

ived zipped up a nice install of 98se with all the sps tweaks etc i got a nice clean install i want to be able to just unzip it to a new hardrive any hardrive so i always have 98se good to go if i crash i dont need a restore cd or rcovery i have those i need a way perhaps a dos unzipper etc to call to d the cd containing the zip to install it on c:\root possible from a floppy what i need is how to do it what dos unzipper i need to put on floppy etc .probably right up mgdxs alley.

alot of the function on xp like moviemaker etc etc i never use sure its nice to have a contol panel full of wireless etc function but 98se does everything joe home user neeeds it 2 the only draw back might be that ie 7 probably wont be alavable for 98se and if msn 7 requires ie 6sp2 i imagine msn 8.0 the messenger probably wont run on 98se but who knows patches fixes are the stuff of forums .

well put george i have xpprosp2 on 1 pc and 98se on another with sp2.0 and other goodies and i used 98se about 99% of the time its speedy.

there are still plenty of 98 users around this is a very active forum .in fact the tweaks tips programs created for 98se are excellent breathing new life into 98se.sure new pcs come with xp as all new pcs carried the os of the day but for the other folks who have hand me down pcs or older boxes the need for xp is not pracitial and beside u can still do nearly everything on 98 u could on xp at least the general things and sure new apps are designed for the nt kernel but alot are still made for 9x and up so if u can tweak 98se to run better and u can with gapes sp 2.0 and other proggie yourll find your old 98se run like new and maybe a facelift new theme icons etc and u have a revamped 98se so dont ever think 98se is old news its being reinvented everyday .

how bout u throw the remaining hotfiles in add a complete tinhy revamping of the shell and call it the sp experience .throw in a magic dll lol

i choose 9 because new isnt always better unless its a wife.

98se is better more tweaks appz etc me is the devil ..lol

i never had much problems with fat32 until u get 2 many apps and junk loaded up.

i think 15-20mb is plenty twice ive had to download sp 2.o on dialup like 3 hrs whoa doggy beside if theirs no ie 6 or mp9 etc then i see no bloat thou id lov a sp with above in one easy to install exe .dare to dream .gape your sp2.0 works perfectly .
