  1. This is the offending reg entry your looking for: "AutoAdminLogon"="1" , just change "1" to "0" Below is the entry reg entry to disable auto admin login Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] "AutoAdminLogon"="0" You could just add the above reg entry to your tweaks.reg on your xp disc if your not able to find a resolve. Cheers.
  2. @Alagor Post the registry entries for the 2 programs you want to use in the script. Not XXXX ... The full path/filename of the 2 exe in the Registry. RegRead("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\xxxxx\xxxxxx", "") <--- This does not point at your either of the exe you want to launch. This points at the value Default = (value not set) When your script runs and reads the registry it will return and empty string! in other words 0. Even if there are other values under the key. It will return an empty sting! in other words 0. Even If you have other values in the key it will return and Empty String ! in other words 0. (I'm assuming your using AutoIT , since it's the same post in the AutoIt forum)
  3. RegRead("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\xxxxx\xxxxxx", "") When you look in the registry you see: Default REG_SZ (Value Not Set) <--- This is looking at Default value under the xxxxxx key From AutoIt help file it says "" looks at Default RegRead("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\xxxxx\xxxxxx", "222") . When you look in the registry you see: Default REG_SZ (Value Not Set) 222 REG_SZ C:\Whateverpath\222.exe <--- This is looking at the value of 222 under the key.
  4. Go for it Sars! Postal 2 Share The Pain and the expansion Appocalypse Weeked.... They both kept me entertained for weeks...lol Luv the enhanced mode you get after completeing the game.. You get to piddle fire. lmfao best part of this is Stand on a roof in any town part and have a flaming leak on a passer by, then watch that flaming person bump into the next person and they catch on fire , then watch that person set the next person on fire an so on.. After a short time you got 15 - 25 ppl running arround all on fire screaming. Looks awsome for it's day ...Hahahaha.. After they all die go down and pick up all the stuff they've dropped. (tip: go into the game options and set the max amount of ppl on the screen as high as your hardware can handle) or A cat on a shotgun gives me laugh as well , that "Meeeyowww" each time you pull the trigger still cracks me up... or When you walk in town with you whizzer hanging out and and one of the towns ppl tell you to "put it away buddy", while they are saying this to you carefully aim your whizzer at there mouth and fire ... Whatch em gag and throw up. This I found sickening , but hey I laughed so hard it made me wanna go for a real whiz... (tip: do this with enhanced mode off) Makes me want to go back and play it through just 2 more times ... Yep that game suited my warped gaming mind. Cheers Hanging out for the F.E.A.R expansion as well as the FarCry expansion (if it ever sees the light of day)
  5. Huh that's not true TD... Yzöwl has stated what he said correctly in regaurds to spaces in the pathname. It's not about the no switches, it's about spaces in the path to the exe. REG ADD %KEY%\000 /V 1 /D "\"%PP%\AVG Anti Virus Program\autoavgsetup.exe\"" /F I can't believe any1 would dispute Yzöwl skillz in things like this. Man I've seen some of Yzöwls handy work and to some1 like me I see it as pro. I'd be inclined to follow Yzöwl advice before other posters when it comes to anything to do with script help. my 2 cents in boredom...lol Cheers
  6. Thank You for your input on my question. cmdow does not fully hide the 7za.exe extraction window. startx I haven't tried. I was sorta hoping that 7za.exe had it's own command for hiding the extraction window. So now I know I didn't miss some little secret command...lol But I'll stick with nircmd ftm , as it works for what I need. Cheers
  7. Yep agreed, that's definately one game I've been looking forward to. In earlier days I could understand the probs of wanting a game as I asked in first post ,when there was such a limitation on hardware eg: ram , gpu , cpu etc, But nowdays video cards boast 256-512MB of ram , the average current day PC carries 1GB and up of ram more like (2GB) , not to mention dual core cpu's, faster bus speeds. What's the hold up on creating a game that offers all the good bits... In the meantime I guess I'll just keep flicking between the same ol' games I've raped/pillaged/plundered and finished over and over. UT (All versions) Farcry FEAR BF2 HL2 SiN Emergence RF2 SOF2 The Suffering The Thing (only for the cpu squad that do unexpected things like comit suicide when scared and if you give em a gun.. Lmao) and the trillion others Dang when will this addiction stop! Spose after 31 years of playing vid games it aint ever gunna stop...lol Thanks for the replies, I gathered there was nothing like I'm looking for yet , but thought I'd ask all the same. Cheers PS @ codeblue , dude I still play my gameboy (emulated on just about any platform, eg: PSP, Xbox,PC, PS1 , DreamCast..etc) on occassion , but never been a fan of Pokemon. But hey if it gives me my fix then I'll give it a go, but umm I think it aint gunna do it for me...lol
  8. 7za.exe is great for doing what you suggested. Offtrack, but the only thing I would like to know even though cosmetic is there a way to hide the extraction window of 7za.exe while it uncompresses? Not really noticable on a fast PC or on small files. But definately noticable on bigger files and slower cpus. ATM I'm using nircmd to hide the 7za.exe extraction window.
  9. I'm looking for FPS Gun and Run single player game. Criteria for this game would be a combination of features from mutiple other games. FarCry type of outdoor enviroment for beauty and freedom (that's about the wowest I've seen for outdoor gameplay) and prone moves. BF2 style of in and out of vehicles and machinery. HL2 world interaction of use, carry , stack, destroy objects. F.E.A.R for grenades and bullit time , lean and melee and particles under fire, bot AI. Red Faction for the destructable walls and concrete.. (good to see a game that when a door is locked you can blast through the wall beside it to create your own path) Kill.Switch for the dive roll and the blind fire and cover methods. Tenchu for the stealth kills Manhunt for the sadistic kills. Soldier Of Fortune 2 for the sadistic body damage to enemies when blasting limbs, fingers, noses ,faces etc off. Are there any games that can offer the above features in 1 game? Cheers
  10. Umm , You could try turning V-Sync ON .. that way the frames will be limited to your refresh rate of the monitor. eg 75hz refresh rate on your monitor will give you 75FPS with vsync on. enable vsync by hitting the tilde key (~) , in the consol window type preferences and hit enter. You'll find the option to turn on/off vsync and many other settings. Had this prob wrunning down a corridor were it gets dark at the end , wowsers I was hiting 1000+ FPS a sec. Found myself running into walls constanly untill I turned vsync on (my monitor refresh is @ 120hz), I get a constant 120 FPS without the speedup and slowdowns. I hadn't played UT v4.00-4.36 since the the days of my celeron 400 cpu and TNT2 vid card. I use to struggle to get 70-100FPS. Wow it runs so darn quick on my current AMDx2 and 7800GT vid card. (to be expected though) Cheers
  11. Not sure if you've checked this thread out yet .. if not then start there. Try HERE Cheers
  12. I'm not sure if your serial is valid or not... But you might want to mask or remove the serial in your admin.ini. Cheers.
  13. Thank You hp38guser , works great Ever thought of upx'n the nero.exe before packing the installer. Reduction of around 12MB after install and no loss to the programs performance (that I can notice anyway). orig nero.exe = 17.2MB upx nero.exe 5.26MB @ -9 compression Don't think it'll make much differance to the installer size. But it definately reduces the installed size of nero at no loss of functionality. Cheers
  14. When RunOnceEx runs that above line it's going to be looking for "7za.exe" , specify the path for it.eg: REG ADD %KEY%\034 /V 1 /D "%cddrive%\InstallApps\7za.exe x %cddrive%\InstallApps\systemdrive.7z -aoa -y -o%systemdrive%" /f Good Luck Cheers Edit: Try one of these if you want. Tested them in windows but not in a UA sysdrvun.exe = Place in same folder as your systemdrive.7z file along with 7za.exe. Launch sysdrvun.exe. No cmd window at launch but the 7za.exe console window shows while extracting systemdrive.7z or sysdrvuq.exe = Place in same folder as your systemdrive.7z file along with 7za.exe and nircmd.exe. Launch sysdrvuq.exe. No cmd window and No 7za.exe consol window while extracting. Made with QBFC.
  15. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] "AutoAdminLogon"="0"Copy and paste the above into notepad , save as anynameyoulike.reg Either double click the newly created anynameyoulike.reg or right click and select Merge. Click "yes" and then click "ok" Restart windows and see if that helps. If that does help and you have the Built in Administrator account displaying on the welcome screen and you do not want it there then do the same with this below: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList] "Administrator"=dword:00000000TIP: Put password on built in Admin account if there isn't one already. Cheers.
  16. Thank You for the heads up on this program/package joeyeti. Haven't actually tried it yet , but will when I get home from work. From the description on their site it's exactly what I've been looking for. Cheers.
  17. This was mainly to bump , but thought I'd show what I've added for my computer context tweaks. Tested them on a fresh UA install and they all appear to work for me. But I can't help but wonder if there's any troubles I'm going to be facing down the track. 18. I notice there's alot of basic context menu reg tweaks. Was wondering if there is any problem or repercutions of not adding the full tweak? For example instead of: ;Adds Device Manager to right click of MY Computer [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\DevMgr] @="Device Manager" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\DevMgr\command] @="mmc.exe %%SYSTEMDRIVE%%\\WINDOWS\\SYSTEM32\\devmgmt.msc" and using this: ;Adds Device Manager to right click of MY Computer [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\Device Manager\command] @="mmc.exe %%SYSTEMDRIVE%%\\WINDOWS\\SYSTEM32\\devmgmt.msc"I notice when not adding the first value @="Device Manager" the registry just uses the name in the Key instead [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\Device Manager\command]. I've noticed this with alot of the context menu tweaks to add to right click menu of My Computer eg: services , device manager , Add/Remove programs , regedit etc .. All seem to work without the extra data. So is there any draw backs to not adding the extra data in the registry or for that matter any benefit actually adding the extra data? Was wondering this as I'm about to add a few of these tweaks to my fresh UA install. TYIA for any response to my question. Cheers
  19. Not just you .. The file that downloads is 409KB file. when you run it will look to: http://download.microsft.com/download/e/b/...otnetredist.exe If you go to that address the you see "This Site is under constuction". From search at MS you find that dotnetredist.exe is dotnet 1.0 or 1.0a , that's what it came back with on a query for me. Another file is11.5 whines about is visual sharp j redist. To me it appears that 11.5 just want's to phone home no matter what files I supply it , prob to help me , yeah right. I'll stick with is11 or admin studio 7 ftm. Getting same errors others have reported , and that's without editing the nero.msi.
  20. Thank You for your exellent updated list glent .. nice work Found a mild mistake. ;Remove the Logoff Button [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced] "StartMenuLogoff"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] "StartMenuLogoff"=dword:00000000Value should be "StartMenuLogoff"=dword:00000001 for remove Also all that is needed for the tweak to work in New Start Menu and Classic Start Menu is: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] "StartMenuLogoff"=dword:00000001 The other Key/value is redundant as far as I can see. Cheers & Thank You once again.
  21. I gather your sfx archive has a program that doesn't need to be installed to run. you could do what your after a few ways. you could add a shortcut.inf file that will run when the sfx archive is executed to unpack your program to program files and will create the shortcut in the startup folder. You could have the shortcut in the sfx archive have it extract the shortcut to startup folder when the sfx archive is unpacked to program files. you could add a registry entry to the run key when the sfx archive is unpacked to program files and don't even worry about a shortcut file in the start up folder. may I ask what are you using to make your sfx archive eg: 7-Zip, WinRar , WinZip , WinAce etc ? is your sfx archive going to have user choices when executed eg: where the user can unpack it to? If it's just a straight out no user choice and unpacks to program files then it makes it easier for you to set up what your after. sorry to be asking more questions then giving answers, but it just makes it so I don't have type full examples of the above for everything when you prob only gunna use or need 1 method.
  22. Do you mean just once or every time windows starts up? Do you mean just in 1 users profile or in every users profile? more specific = more help in most cases. Geez I read what I wrote above and it sounds like I'm being a smarta$$, I don't mean it to though.
  23. This post isn't meant to distract from the thread or spam a promo of some1 elses software. If it comes across that way the I apologise in advance and will edit this post straight away when asked .... I recently tried and am testing a free program called Registry Tweaker, I thought I'd post about here since it has quite a few usefull features. The author of the program is constantly adding support for new features and functions that will make your tweak databasing and profiling quite worth it in the long run. In the past week the test versions of his program has come along in leaps and bounds. Some of the features that are quite handy are: A user editable database for adding your own reg tweaks. Customisable Categories for your Tweaks you have listed in the database. Supports multikey tweaks. Apply a tweak straight away. Add tweaks to a profile and apply the profile when your ready using the program. Export profile to .reg file (Handy for UA) Value Box for when you select a tweak to apply or add to profile Auto apply your .reg file on windows startup. etc... The features are being added/updated on a regular basis by the author. There's still alot to add as of yet . Currently his program supports DWORD and STRING entries only atm, but I think he's working on the other needed reg types as I type. Once he has these added I really think that this program would be perfect to add all the registry tweaks from the first post and any other tweak you can think of for that matter into one neat database for your own needs. I've been adding entries for reg tweaks I use from the first posts RegTweaks list as well as tweaks from my scattered .reg files for my own use and am finding his program getting beter and better as each version I test. Just thought it worth a mention. Some pics of the version I'm testing atm: Pic1 Pic2 Pic3 Pic4 I would like to mention all the features and functions but this post is long enough and I'm really not sure if any1 will apreciate me posting it here as it is. Cheers
  24. Have you checked D-Links sight for updated firmware. I use a D-Link 604T and am able to send recieve files through msn and mirc via wireless or hard cable. I didn't really have to set up anything to be able to do this though (if anything had to secure it's settings so they weren't default for security reasons). This is the forth DL 604T I've had as the first 2 stopped working within a short time of use, started with them just dropping connection for no reason until I reset and then the DCHP inbuilt server just stopped working. they sent replacements rather quickly. The 2 replacements have been working 24/7 for 9 months now and barely a reset needed and it's running 9 pc's via cat cable and 4pc's via wireless on 1 and running 4pcs via cat, 4 pcs via wireless on the other DL 604T I use the port forwarding when seeding a torrent though. Have tried the port forwarding ? (same section as you find DMZ ). When I tried DMZ I found I was getting hit by to much traffic that i wasn't requesting. Cheers
