  1. So we have to keep thinking.....
  2. CCleaner got my vote although registry mechanic is a good one too.
  3. Hi XPero! You already know I really like XPize so there's nothing new I can say. Just keep up the good work, you're great at what you do. And happy first b-day at MSFN.
  4. @fdv: I have used resource hacker and PEexplorer in some dlls but with no luck. Maybe you can tell me which dlls have REGINST section to go direct to them. Thx
  5. Well I will use the batmeter way, the icon just doesn't appear so we don't have to hide it every restart. I'm not in a laptop so it's ok. Is there any problem if I remove batmeter.dll from my xp cd in my unattended?
  6. My vote for Winrar.
  7. I think I will definitely go for x700.
  8. Well I'm using MS Antispyware, Ad-Aware 1.06 and Spybot Search & Destroy
  9. @rnielsen151: 3684gigs.........you're the man. Are you running out of disk space? LOL
  10. The dllcache thing don't work. I emptyed it too before asking. I will keep thinking about it.
  11. Well, the fight is 6600 vs x700. @JuMz: In your link there are a lot of games where x700 kicks 6600, but there are a few where it even kicks 6800. Very impressive.
  12. Thx JuMz, I was confused about 9600XT and x700 having so close prices. I am an Nvidia fan but if x700 is better than 6600 I will change team.
  13. I'm considering upgrading my graphic card. Ati Radeon 9600XT -> 125€ ~ 153$ Ati X700 (non-XT) -> 135€ ~ 166$ nvidia 6600 (non-GT) -> 145€ ~ 178$ They're all AGP and 256mb ram. Links to comparisons are welcome. Show me your thoughts please.
  14. @army20: I don't want to hide them (that would be the easy solution) cause I have windows the way I like it, (unattended, reg tweaks and all the story....you know) and I don't have hidden folders, I like to see and have control of everything. The folders are: Program files/microsoft frontpage Program files/msn gaming zone Program files/netmeeting Program files/outlook express Program files/xerox If I delete them, at restart they are created again. I just want to get rid of these annoying empty folders.
  15. @godan: Read your PMs, I sent you one a few minutes ago.
  16. @boooggy: SFC is already disabled. But the problem persists. Any more ideas? someone?
  17. Hello people! I have a problem while trying to delete some empty folders in "program files". They are installed with windows installation but they're empty. I can delete them with unlocker but winlogon.exe is the process which uses them and at restart they are created again. I repeat, they're empty and have nothing to do with windows core. Is there any way to avoid winlogon of creating them?? Thx
  18. Here you are: http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/ # Change Log Unlocker 1.7.0 - 08/08/2005 - New functionality: help deleting, renaming and moving objects even if no handle exist. If previous versions of Unlocker only told you "No locking handle found", this new version should help you solve your problems - New functionality: Short/Long/UNC name file deleting, renaming and moving operations to delete badly named objects. If you do not know what I am talking about, run this batch file and try to delete the folders created at the root of the C: drive without Unlocker and you will understand - New functionality: delete, rename, move on next boot - New functionality: improved delete. Now C:\Documents and Settings\username\Cookies\index.dat can be deleted without killing processes - Improved UI: the webpage link of the update alert is clickable now - Improved UI: items can be sorted when clicking the listview columns titles - New Language: Estonian thanks to Mihkel Tonnov for the translation - New Language: Spanish thanks to Javier L. for the translation - Fixed bug: the explorer extension does not use msvcrt71.dll anymore since it is not installed by default - Fixed bug: multiple selection delete and move should work now I really like this program.
  19. Thx for the info Xpero. And good luck in the contest. Good luck to SiMoNsAyS too.
  20. @gamehead200: A registry tweak for that would be just perfect, but it doesn´t exist. Or at least I haven't found it. Maybe someone can enlight us.
