This sysoc.inf i thought you could just put the file in the $OEM$\$$\SYSTEM32 folder and it did it by its self but you say you modifed the sysoc.inf to copy over the orinagl in setup or am i miss reading your post?

i no that you can do it with the sfc_os.dll but say i had a hacked explorer.exe could i put that in there and in would work?

snooz that why i posted this so other people could do the same as you and me without having to hex edit it them else or make the reg file i post a download link.

Say you have a unattended Windows XP Pro CD and you want to copy the the uxtheme.dll patch or your own shell32.dll but very time you do Windows File Protection stops you and restores the old version so you see why i have posted this becuase some people like to have they own icons and hacked version of thing and this help to do that. ok its maybe not stupid be it can be.

go to options>General>Alerts and make sure the play sound box is ticked.

If you want to disable windows file protection then do this Download This ok after that unzip the files and replace the sfc_os.dll in the dll cache with the downloaded one then go into the system32 folder and rename sfc_os.dll to sfc_os.old and put the downloaded sfc_os.dll in its place then run the reg file that was with the download. And Re-boot and Your Done NO MORE STUPID FILE PROTECTION. I will post an update when i have done it for Windows Sever 2003 and Windows 2000 Pro SP4

nope i find away to disable that crap because when i hacked explorer.exe to replace the my computer icon and some other crap it keep going on about me doing it so i got rid of it. Could there be a .dll file with the iexplore icon in it that is backing it up.

ok i have hacked iexplore to have a custom icon but the internet explorer icon on the desktop does not change and all the others do does anyone no why this is. P.s i have replaced all iexplore files on my computer so its not being backed up from the dllcahe or system32 folder

Whats with the message saying to many people on the sever it p***ing me of.

i was looking in the i386 folder and found that them screens are in seven or eight different places so it might be hard to do.

So that why i cant get on here.

explorer, iexplorer and notepad which i have hacked work ok when copying maybe its one of you cpl files cause the system to restart the files before it copys or some thing like that.

ok it works on explorer.exe i hacked that and replaced the my computer icon so why not shell32.dll

ok say i wish to add new icons but i do not wish to replace any of the oriangal ones but if i like i can got to prop's and chnage it with one of the new icons which i add before can this be done as when i add a new icon it does not work.

ok i rebuild the icon catch right build it removed my custom icons why.

ok that a problem erm...i guess it would work but you must add a line to the batch file telling it to delete the install folder when its finshed to get your room back. ok

yep were is a command in the winnt.sif OEMPreinstall=Yes this tells setup to copy the contain of the $OEM$\$1\ folder GuiRunOnce=this find the batch file copy to the had drvie during setup and the batch file find your appz when the batch runs :excited: :excited:

yep i back it up but i wish to add extra icons and keep the current ones in there but when i did that the icons does not display as the one selected :/
