If its unattended media, use the "OfflineServicing" pass to install drivers. I was unable to make auditSystem install drivers. Mine is: <settings pass="offlineServicing"> <component name="Microsoft-Windows-PnpCustomizationsNonWinPE" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="nonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <DriverPaths> <PathAndCredentials wcm:keyValue="1" wcm:action="add"> <Path>\DRVS</Path> </PathAndCredentials> </DriverPaths> </component> </settings> I also have the DRVS folder in <cdRom path>\sources\$oem$\$1\DRVS Works for me when doing an unattended. I have never mounted a WIM to add drivers.
Its more like Vista than XP to deploy. For 1000 machines, without using 3rd party imaging tools, WDS would be the go for you. There is plenty of doco on the MS website and on here on how to go about setting this up.
I do this with a script: Install RSAT (After you have extracted the tools): start /w pkgmgr /n:%SystemDrive%\Install\RSAT\Windows6.1-KB958830-x86.xml Enable some RSAT tools (including NETDOM) start /w pkgmgr /iu:RemoteServerAdministrationTools-Roles-AD-DS-SnapIns;RemoteServerAdministrationTools-Roles-AD-DS;RemoteServerAdministrationTools-Roles-AD;RemoteServerAdministrationTools-Roles;RemoteServerAdministrationTools I essentially do the same as you except I use a VB script to rename the computer.
Its not that, mnlk2, I use that and its OK. Try remove the " <RegisteredOwner /> " as the tags are not correct. Also, use WSIM from the WAIK and click verify settings to ensure all of your syntax's are correct.
Hi, One of two things is wrong. The CD key is invalid, or, sysprepping is removing the key (normal) Is it before, after or partway through the automated install ? The WinPE wont tell you that you are using an invalid key.
