nop, a normal windows xp cd. It lets me set the cpu frequency in bios, then i put the same frequency on the mobo. But tells me im trying to overclock it. or its telling my system failed cpu test. OK lol, i put that to default. 1 time I restart it says system failed cpu test from speakers, monitor doens't come on at all or anything anothe time I restart it says cpu overclocking error from speakers, monitor doens't come on at all another time i restart it goes fine until it gets to xp loading screen and restarts itself sometimes i restart it goes into safemode bios and goes last time the booting had errors due to improper frequency settings. set the frequency properly and restart I try to get into the hard drive safe mode it restarts at the agpsomethingsomething point I try to press the f key to get into safe mode another way it says hard disk failure. So the times it works it can't get into hd? bah i feel like throwing this junk out.

Well nothing resolved the issue. I think I narrowed it down to this: http://usa.asus.com/mb/socket478/p4b533/jumper.htm It's 2.0 Ghz P4 Mobo: P4b533 What do I set those jumper things as? I tried setting a couple but nothing changes. I hear on the speaker that system failed due to over clocking lol. IM not trying to overclock it just trying to get the blasted thing to boot up.

Thanks, i'll try those.

Hello, as the topic title says, my computer keeps restarting everytime when it gets to the windows xp loading screen where the blue bar runs. I don't see that screen though, it just restarts at that point. It gives me a bsod screen but it's there only for a micro second. Can't read that fast And keeps restarting no matter what i try. Safe mode won't work either, formatting and re-installing xp doesn't work, when it restarts after formatting to install xp it restarts at that screen. I tired that boot disc that's been going around bart PE, that also doesn't work. I pulled out all the hardware except hard drive, a stick of ram and video card. Still a no go. Tested the video card on another computer, it's fine. Tested the hd it's fine. Tested the ram it's fine. I don't see anything wrong with the motherboard. so lol, what can it be? Please help thnx

Can someone tell me how to enable or disable those options in the registry? I tried looking in the registry for spysweeper and came up with this. [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Webroot\SpySweeper] "ot"=dword:00000000 "news"=dword:00000000 "autodefupdate"=dword:00000001 "auto"=dword:00000000 "tcquar"=dword:00000000 "dss"=dword:00000001 "dssr"=dword:00000001 "dontshowdiagmsg"=dword:00000000 "edithijack"=dword:00000000 "edithosts"=dword:00000000 "editstartup"=dword:00000000 "tfquar"=dword:00000000 "snd"=dword:00000000 "iehijacknotify"=dword:00000001 "hpt"=dword:00000001 "iesearchpagenotify"=dword:00000001 "lastcookieduration"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 "lastfullduration"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 "lastknownduration"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 "lastmemoryduration"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 "lph"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 "lastregistryduration"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 "lsd"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 "lsdu"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 "lupdt"=hex:8a,54,3f,81,14,d8,e2,40 "lds"=dword:00000001 "ls"=dword:00000014 "newsdt"="" "newsv"=dword:00000000 "pp"=dword:00000000 "qada"=dword:00000001 "qadd"=dword:0000001e "trquar"=dword:00000000 "sel"="C" "sta"=dword:00000001 "st"=dword:00000000 "nwrd"=dword:00000001 "slfh"=dword:0000000a "slmi"=dword:000000fa "subscriptionrenewalnags"="30=0,10=0,3=0,1=0" "scaf"=dword:00000001 "scau"=dword:00000001 "scac"=dword:00000001 "sm"=dword:00000001 "sr"=dword:00000001 "ttquar"=dword:00000000 "initialized"=dword:00000001 But whenever I change those options it doesn't change any values in the registry. Tried restarting and all and refreshing but nothing. Is the config file somewhere else? or am i doing something wrong Thanks

WindowsXP comes with it. Just connect your camera to your computer and it'll pop up a msg saying blah blah. You don't need a software for it.

hmm forgot about this thread. I know of that option but I was asking something like having the actual play pause stop buttons right on the taskbar. Not a minimized version of winamp
-
Anyone know how to put winamp on taskbar like you can on windows media player?

I n-lited a copy of windows, and may have done something stupid, and got this error: I used an n-lited winxp, with the boot menu type cd, so that I can choose users and install it, like in the following guide: http://flyakite.msfnhosting.com/xpprosp1.htm Any ideas? Edit: Well it works fine with the original n-lited xp. It doesn't work when I put in the PRO1 folders, and PRO1.DAT and the txtsetup.sif file. I gotta change something in txtsetup.sif file for the n-lited version?

Different User Accounts for different winnt.sif
Grake replied to Grake's topic in Multi-Boot CD/DVDs
Im using a CD (have a dvd but that's for some other use ), and I really don't have the space in the cd to create multiple setup folders. I was thinking along the lines of adding a text file or something. Have a question: I have this user created everytime I install xp, is it possible to tell it not to run comandline.txt and those user creation files using the winnt.sif file? Edit: I searched the forums and appearently XP Pro doesn't really need a user created at the beginning as it creates an Admin user. so problems solved lol thnx -
ok I used BartPE network boot, and mapped the drive that was on my computer. I accessed my xp folder, went into boot folder, and typed in cdshw.com. It kinda freezes at the boot screen. How do you guys do network installation?

Different User Accounts for different winnt.sif
Grake replied to Grake's topic in Multi-Boot CD/DVDs
hmm..don't know if you understood my question properly. I would like to create different user for different computer using the same cd of xp. Right now I use the cmdlines.txt file to create a user, but it's the same user for all the computers. I would like to have different users (the ones I specify for each computer). Right now I specify a winnt.sif files for each computer using the cd shell boot menu. I'd like something like that? -
Ya i get this same error too. It works fine on VMware, and on my 3 other pc's. The 4th one just won't go.

I have this unattended xpcd, that uses cdshell boot menu. I was wondering if I can run the exact same thing from a network drive to install xp on another computer. How can I do it so that when I install xp from network it comes up with the cdshell boot menu and uses whatever winntsif the boot menu chooses and everything. Like it would do when you install from a CD. Thanks

Hello again So I set up multi boot dvd with different winnt.sif files so when I choose 1, it installs XP by the name of Sam, and when I choose 2, it installs XP by the name of Grake.] After it installs, it creates the same user account for both of us, which is in the $OEM$ folder. Is there any way to have 2 different user accounts, and specify it to use one user for an installation of xp, and another for the 2nd installation of xp using the winnt.sif files? or any other files? Thanks

the loader.bin file in the boot folder. But thanks, I gotten through that phase lol. It was because on the PRO1.DAT file, I didn't "replace" the I386 with PRO1, but deleted I386 and wrote PRO1. What a hell of an error lol. But out of all the excitment of getting to work, comes new problems After choosing the one of the options in the boot menu, it goes into the setup where I choose the partition. I chose the partition and I get this. "Setup cannot format the partition. Your computer may not have enough memory to perform this operation, or your Windows XP CD-ROM may contain some corrupted files. Setup cannot continue. To quit Setup, press F3" any solution? I see a lot of ppl "view" this thread, but not a whole lot respond lol. Please help out Thanks Edit: Nevermind, I had to edit my setuptxt file, to just have / since I had no other dir.
-
I have edited that file a million times, same thing keeps happening. Can someone who did this page the way it said, and has it working please give me the edited files for setupldr.bin and PRO1.DAT It's driving me nuts, such simple thing I can't accomplish. Edit: Can someone please tell me exactly what triggers the boot menu to come up? I don't see any connection as to why it would load up really. Is it when I press Enter when it says Please enter any key to boot from cd? Thanks
