  1. i used the software that came with my hard drive{western}. it repaired the mbr, formated and activated the disk. i think there is something wrong bartpe formater. if you get the error about "hal.dll" being corrupt or missing it means your boot sector on your hard drive is bad.
  2. i fixed my installation problem. sorry i can't remember where i read it but bartpe formating seems to mess up the mbr. i repaired it,reformated it{using hard drive's manufactor's tools}, reinstalled bartpe{SKIPPED the format} and reboot. now all i have to do is get all the programs to run.
  3. i have that problem also. when i search the target drive i can see a ntldr file but bart won't recognize it . if i copy a "boot.ini" file to the target drive, bartpe will see the ntldr but won't complete 2) Install Pe-loader in c:\BartPE\boot.ini - use this if you want to select BartPE in your boot.ini menu. rebooting to the hard drive gets an error complaining about "hal.ddl" missing or corrupted. i am using winxp sp2 for a source. did anyone find a fix for this or is it a "bug" in bartpe?
  4. i have never used multi partions so i'm not sure of what to do. maybe someone else will help.
