his problem is that he installs some codec pack or some other media player which changes file association. even if i told him this in previous thread he doesnt seem to understand.

extravert i remove a lot with nlite and mp3 works just fine. even with that drivers and codecs removed. his prob is that he used sp3 and removed security center. i already made lots of test with that component kept and wmp 11 works fine with mp3

well i got an idea.....stop using beta software.....like sp3 then if that doesnt convince u......try the same preset but without removing security center. it seems that removal on a sp3 xp causes problems.

slipstreamer cant handle this particular hotfix yet.....we working on it. that is happening cause microsoft decided to change wmp hotfix structure completly......

i dont know what u do ...but for me nlite works just fine with sp3 i integrate sp3 into the xp gold and it compress sp3 into drivers and also removes docs, support and value folders.

considering that sp3 is still in beta.....then ryan pack is not a waste.....but then...u should wait till mext week when he will release the new version.

too complicated u need an original xp sp2 cd that doesnt have wmp 11 integrated.

r u sure its not already disabled? u might use a source taht has it alrady disabled....

sp3 contains only updates for windows xp.... it doesnt contains any specific MCE updates......

i didnt test with removing the files....but adding those 3 make WU happy.... i will test without that exe and see whats up.

no matter how u add wmp11 to your MCE cd 913800 will show up on wu. i agree that 913800 contains mostly files from wmp 10 but ...it also contains files that dont belong to wmp10 and they are required for WU to be happy. there are 3 files needed: Wpdtrace.dll, Kb913800.exe and easycd.inf. please look for more files details into the hotfix: 913800

sb1 what firewall and antivirus u use?

u tell me...... in this picture it shows that setup is executing wmp11.inf which is a part of wmp11 setup so if u say u didnt integrate wmp11 then it means u use a xp source that came with wmp11 integrated.

zimzum.... what u showed me.....it is called file association. which means that some files are associated with a program. in this particular case after u install windows and wmp 11 is getting instaled, u install some program that also plays audio files (i think foobar is the program that u associate with mp3 files here). so what happens to u its not caused by wmp 11 slipstreamer.
