  1. so I did back in the day. I just checked the BSOD logs with BlueScreenView win32k.sys and ntoskrnl.exe seem to be the files that trigger the BSOD with chrome I also have suffered some BSOD from the original 49 up to date but it's something I can live with from time to time.
  2. I removed the 1.47 version and installed the 1.46 one instead. it works somewhat better although not as good as it does with all other browsers
  3. another BSOD when closing a tab... I am just about to throw in the towel. this browser is pretty unstable to me.
  4. I use the multi process function ever since it was made available for the original FF52. it works so much smoother than any other crap updated fork. also that was the only reason why I dropped the sluggish Mypal28 in favor of the Serpent52... @roytam1
  5. my first impression, chrome360 still runs much smoother and I have gotten another BSOD this is the main reason why Mypal68 has never been a real alternative. https://github.com/Feodor2/Mypal68/issues/3 moreover, uBlock doesn't seem to work despite being correctly installed
  6. I agree with you as I also like installers better but for web browsers I don't care much any more. I for one have had several issues with the original Firefox which was unable to start because of some registry problems hence I prefer the portable editions now.
  7. I did read somewhere that @feodor2 was from ukraine and some rumors pointed out he could not be alive due to the the lack of new releases for so long....
  8. hundred's ? unless you patch the 32-bit edition it won't be able to load that many tabs at a time due to the RAM limitations. however with Serpent 52 this is not an issue, I have already had 300-400 active tabs in a single session, but beyond 100 tabs it struggles quite a bit
  9. because it's annoying to move from a forum (or website) to another one and log in every time you startup your browser.
  10. Firefox forks ? security researchers found out back in 2020 some unexpected telemetry connections during start up on the original Firefox Quantum toward Mozilla servers. I can't recall if they were using WireShark or a more sophisticaded tool. like this https://www.reddit.com/r/PrivacyGuides/comments/z6rq1f/this_study_says_firefox_leaks_a_lot_of_info_and/
  11. Android is even worse as far as security goes than any Windows edition... and guess what there are far more people doing banking or online shopping with a phone than with a computer. when it comes to security as mentioned before XP is not the main target for stealing bank credentials.
  12. do you mean chrome browsers scan all of our files all day long non stop ? I know that some external utilities are able to scan and display stored passwords so the browser is not truly safe (leak-free) but the discussion was about infecting your data files while browsing the web.
  13. why don't banks introduce the 2-step verification system into their webs ? https://blog.google/technology/safety-security/one-step-closer-to-a-passwordless-future/
  14. how can you infect your computer files without downloading and executing java scripts ? in fact web browsing protective shield is an optional requirement for any AV
  15. I personally don't use any real time AV. every time I got infected was because I downloaded and installed software that I didn't check carefully (some times Virus Total reports trojans on software utilities from legit sources) my question is, how can one infect XP by visiting a website ? when I check out my email spam folder I'm able to distinguish fishing type links from safe links.
  16. you are right. I didn't think on UBO because it's not the typical website connected to intrusive advertising anyway on other web's I had UBO and GHOST' disabled and yet they were unable to load properly
  17. I contacted their user support and they found a great solution for me... this manifest V3 thing will be a true nightmare from now on https://github.com/ken107/read-aloud/tree/v1.60.0
