I haven't seen a really good Aero implementation for 10/11 since. I use 8.1 with the consumer preview theme, which works fine enough for me. Trying to get Aero or a proper 7 theme on anything past 8.1 seems like a fool's errand to me. It's seemingly easier to turn the thing into 2000 or XP. I might go back to 7 with the classic theme, would use it on 8.1 if it wasn't jank.

Does anyone have a copy of 16.26? Can't seem to find it anywhere. The link is dead, archive.org doesn't have it either.

That is NT 5.1, I want to do it for NT 5.2/Server 2003 and x64.

I'm interested in making an ultimate XP with everything needed for it to just work on modern computers. I already have ACPI, what all else would I need modded? I see the stuff in the post but I'm not sure what all that is or how they have code like that.

What does that mean? I mean like what reason is there to use this or what does it fix and for what?

I'm doing pretty well. I've never really been depressed for an extended period of time, aside from one time in the past which I don't want to get into. I mostly just treat things as a joke, including myself.

Well, yeah, but that is a driver version before the latest one. I'd like to see if it includes a XP x64 driver.

I do own a mobile Kepler chip, but it's not in a laptop, nor do I have any will to use it.

I find it funny now that you might have to pirate the game just to play it. People with Kepler mobile chips locked to 425 would certainly need to.

Same issue with another Dell Broadwell laptop, this time the E7250.

What exactly do these patches do?

I was able to fix this by disabling the Nvidia GPU, running only on the integrated Intel iGPU. After Windows was installed, it seemed to work with the dGPU enabled, although no drivers made it mostly useless. However I have a friend with a Broadwell laptop, E5450, and they get this with the ACPI. No dGPU to disable, going to have them look through the BIOS to see if they can find anything.

Latest ACPI with the mod gives me this BSOD on a 6500u laptop.

I tried that one, the parameter is incorrect. Every inf I've tried gives me this error. So far these are what I've tried rndisxp.inf tetherxp64.inf wceisvista.inf WceRndis.inf

I've tried looking and tried so many infs, and not a single one works. I have no idea what the problem is or why it works for others, but they never work for me. Is there any RNDIS inf that works for XP x64?

I have to do that for every device, I want it to just work.

So for Server 2003 x86 I found that it was my 4GB Sandisk it didn't like. The USB drivers seem to detect other devices fine and auto install, however I have to reboot for them to be recognized, and it wants me to manually install the generic volume.
