  1. That's the problem. There are many more files in Win 7 than in Vista and it still works. The pictures are for comparison only.
  2. I have made. Does not make a difference. Here the folder WebSetup of Vista and 7.
  3. That is correct. However, the file does not exist in Windows 7. I have already copied the file from Xp to Win 7. Unfortunately I get 0x8007000D. Here are the Windows Update logs from Vista and 7.
  4. @Dave-H Sorry, I misread. Install this update: http://thehotfixshare.net/board/index.php?/files/file/10247-windowsxp-kb968730-x86-enuexe/&do=download&csrfKey=29a3e5aa142718357fe78f65a0da3da2
  5. The missing file is wsus3setup.inf. I copied the file from Xp but then I get another error. In Vista Sp1, wsus3setup.inf does not exist at all.
  6. Ok, too bad the site doesn't work in Win 7. I have tried everything to fix error 0x80070002. The error also occurs in Vista when Service Pack 2 is installed. Something strange.
  7. @Dave-H I read at Mdl that this update should fix the certificate error: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB3072630
  8. The same goes for Microsoft Update. It even adds the link in the start menu.
  9. @xpandvistafan That would be the solution for Rtm and Sp1.
  10. I've put a lot of effort into replacing the wuaueng.dll file and adding the regitry entries. Lo and behold, it works. It doesn't actually make much sense to get updates in Vista via the website, but I really wanted to try it.
  11. @AstroSkipper I have a slightly more specific question. I accessed the Windows Update webpage in Vista using ProxhttpsProxy and it works fine. But as soon as I install Service Pack 2, I get the error 0x80070002. The same error occurs in Windows 7 as well.
  12. The update for Windows Server 2008 will not install. In addition, the Windows Update website no longer works with SP2.
  13. @xpandvistafan It works in Windows Vista RTM and Sp1 with ProxhttpsProxy. But the search fails.
  14. I get exactly this error too. But I don't know why. It only works in Windows 10/11.
  15. He was able to fix the problem with the ProxhttpsProxy certificate updater.
  16. No, I do not think so. It also works fine for me. Is wuweb.dll already registered?
  17. In Windows Vista/7 and 8 I get error code 0x80070002. It only works in Windows 10. Type the following in cmd: cd c:\windows\syswow64 regsvr32 c:\windows\syswow64\wuweb.dll Btw. Run cmd as administrator!
  18. You don't necessarily need Windows Update Manager, but it's easier to open. wupdmgr.exe
  19. This root certificate installer is specially designed for ProxhttpsProxy. Try installing it. ProxHTTPS Cert Install.exe ProxHTTPS Cert UnInstall.exe
  20. No, not that. Look at the top. You have Internet Explorer 8 and I have Windows Internet Explorer.
