you are booting from win98 floppy? sounds like the cd-rom driver is not working. What is the driver (displayed when it is trying to load) and what type of cd-rom is it? Have you tried deleting NTFS partition from xp setup cd boot?

Not sure what you mean "like the most" since they are not mutually exclusive. I use javascript, java applet, PHP, SQL and XML ALL ON THE SAME PAGE. They each do their own part.

I wouldn't mind having this for my site as well, so I will try to help if you want to try it this way

I am betting it's a Compaq. They are only one I know uses this. You are right, recovery is kinda lame. If you don't have much time or money invested in installed software clean install is way to go. good luck h.o.g

In BIOS set floppy to "None". It will be like it's not even there.

Eraser will overwrite and permanantly delete files. EDIT: this will not get you any more free space. when a file is deleted the space is marked as free, even though the file is still on the disk. eraser will just make it unrecoverable.

I got into the bios and it shows to boot to CD-Rom first. I put the Windows 98SE disk into the CD-Rom and restart the computer but nothing happens <{POST_SNAPBACK}> then something is wrong with your 98 disk or cdrom. You will need to be able to boot from the xp cd to do xp repair install. You can run fdisk and install 98 from a boot floppy if you need to.

You need to do a “repair” installation of xp. Try the instructions in this link. You have nothing to lose. If it doesn’t work then just proceed with the fdisk of partition. http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

what type of bios? some use f1, f2 or f10 key, not delete to enter bios. try them all.

That is default behavior for messenger. I don't use it so not sure how to shut this off. XPCreate just integrates components, doesn't tweak em. Check the unattended forum, sure there is a reg key or something you could set to shut it off.
