  1. Thanks @NotHereToPlayGames, I really appreciate it.   :worship::worship::worship:

I have been avoiding IE6 like the plague for the last 20 years, so I haven't even touched it for 2 decades. No wonder I didn't even think to try that.

    I opened IE6 for 5 seconds and then closed it - 360Chrome still can't open ht-tpS sites.
I opened IE6 for 10 seconds and then closed it - 360Chrome now can open ht-tpS sites, good.
I guess (on my PC) it needs some time to unblock the blockage in the background (Registry).

I suppose there is no harm in opening IE6 for 10 seconds, but I am not 100% sure, so I wanted to hear your opinion.
It opens this blank white page by default: http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?prd=ie&pver=6&ar=msnhome
Is there any risk in opening IE6 for 10 seconds?

I found it, though you were trying to connect to the Internet on your old Compaq Presario with XP x86 SP2, not with your usual XP X64 SP2:

I see that you finally managed to connect to the Internet, by launching a PORTABLE Chromium v49.
    I might try that.
Do you remember exactly which version of PORTABLE Chromium v49 it was?
And what was the source of the file, which website it was downloaded from?

Same as you, my XP x86 SP2 install disk is Basic and VANILLA, with NO patches and NO POSReady.
Also, same as you, I wanted to make registry and hard drive "snapshot" before and after to compare.

What PORTABLE Chromium v49 did for you, watch YouTube video from URL in MPC-HC did for me, allowed 360Chrome to connect to the Internet.

Same as you, in my case it also shows "Establishing secure connection..." in the status bar but it can't open the page, can't open any website.

When you are free, can you take a look at my compare-before-and-after registry and HD "snapshot" text file, and see if you recognize something that
could help 360Chrome to connect to the Internet?

  3. I was trying to solve this problem lately, no matter what I try - 360Chrome can't open any website.
    Happens with all 360Chrome versions: v11, v12 and v13 - they all say: errorcode=7 [ERR_TIMED_OUT (-7)] hmm

These are the things I tried:
    1. Download YouTube video with yt-dlp 2025.06.13 - didn't help
    2. Open page google.com in Incognito mode - didn't help
3a. Open google.com + keep page open + Firewall OFF - WORKS after long time of waiting hmm
3b. Open google.com + close page or restart browser + Firewall OFF - doesn't work hmm
    4. Cmd ipconfig-release+renew - didn't help
    5. Restart Router - didn't help
    5b. Restart Router + Cmd ipconfig-release+renew - didn't help
    6. Open 360Chrome not from 360Loader.exe but from Chrome\Application\360chrome.exe - didn't help
    7. Open page + keep page and browser open + force shut down - didn't help
    8. Create both  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\360chrome  +  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MozillaPlugins  keys in Registry - didn't help
    9. Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes OFF - didn't help
    10. Install Certificates from Cert_Updater_v1.6.exe - didn't help

The only thing that I know it works 100%, because I have tried it 7-8 times, is this:
Open MPC-HC 2.1.2 (with latest yt-dlp.exe [I had v2025.06.13]) and watch YouTube video from URL for 10 seconds - works.
[Probably other MPC-HC version would work, and my current yt-dlp.exe v2025.06.13 was 50+ days old, so it was not the latest, but still worked]
Exact same results happen in XP SP2 and XP SP3.

As if something is stopping 360Chrome to use Internet on new Win XP SP2 and SP3 installation, and  watch YouTube video from URL in MPC-HC  is allowing
    360Chrome to use Internet.

yt-dlp will not be available for XP forever, so I wanted to find another solution to this.

I remember ArcticFoxie, (@NotHereToPlayGames) also had such problem with 360Chrome in the past, he eventually made it work to have Internet, but he
didn't say how he fixed it, or maybe I have forgotten.

I made 'before' and 'after' Registry and System save, to check what exactly  watch YouTube video from URL in MPC-HC  changes in the Registry and
    System.
Here is the file with 'before' and 'after' changes:
Regshot 1.9.0, Compare  before and after  watch YouTube video from URL in MPC-HC, ~res-x86.txt :
    https://pastebin.com/Ge2yU4iU

Maybe I can add some of these entries in the Registry, and make 360Chrome have Internet, without using MPC-HC watch YouTube video from URL.

    Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Can someone please test my yt-dlp Python 3.11 build, to see if you face the same errors when trying to download a video?

    Hi nicolaasjan,

I tried to download this video  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGPeK8gO0Eo  on Win XP SP2 with your yt-dlp Python 3.11 build from
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/scl/fi/2ajuzjxmmbwqk888dj9hg/test_Py3.11_XP_yt-dlp.zip?rlkey=ro7rfvve4ueuavheq30ddvhu6

And I can confirm the same error you got: "Unable to download API page, Failed to establish a new connection: [Errno 0] Error"

I've installed Tampermonkey, but the polyfills I entered don't work.

Does anyone have a description of how to do this correctly and a link to the polyfills?

    https://msfn.org/board/topic/182566-monkey-scripts/

If you are a beginner in Tampermonkey, start with the script called "Old Reddit Redirect", that one is easy to test whether you have set it up properly or not.

  6. Thanks ArcticFoxie,

With no Polyfills, it shows this (I hid some of the messages I thought were irrelevant):
    IIOWs.png
The last message "PUT https ... 9216  400" shows when I 'Add Friend' and when the 'are you human' Pop-up shows.

With these 3 Polyfills (Change Array by Copy All-in-One + Promise.withResolvers + structuredClone major) active, it shows this (I hid some of the messages I thought were irrelevant):
    wwKUA.png
    33h4v.png
This time it didn't show the "PUT https ... 9216  400" message when I 'Added Friend' and when the 'are you human' Pop-up showed.

    I enabled  chrome://flags/#enable-experimental-web-platform-features  so:
Change Array by Copy All-in-One + Promise.withResolvers + structuredClone major + chrome://flags/#enable-experimental-web-platform-features Enabled - but it still showed the 'are you human' Pop-up, so I Disabled  chrome://flags/#enable-experimental-web-platform-features  again (default).

  7. Hi obstinateXP,

    1. Optional: Make backup of rebuild 6 first, Application + User Data folders, backup 360Loader.exe + 360Loader.ini also just in case.
    2. Copy rebuild 6 to new location, replace all contents from rebuild 6\Chrome\Application with Redux\Chrome\Application.
    3. Replace 360Loader.exe from rebuild 6 with 360Loader.exe from Redux; replace 360Loader.ini also if you want or keep your old one from rebuild 6.
    4. Rename rebuild 6 to Redux, done.

  8. Hi everyone,

In 360Chrome 13.5.1030 Redux r1, every time I try to 'Add Friend' in Discord it shows this Pop-up that says: "Wait! Are you human?   Please confirm you
    are not a robot." hmm.
    CCPep.png

    I tried these 6 things:
    1. --disable-features=UserAgentClientHint   - add friend, still asks me 'are you human' hmm.
    2. chrome://flags/#enable-experimental-web-platform-features Enabled   - add friend, still asks me 'are you human' hmm.
    3. --disable-features=UserAgentClientHint + chrome://flags/#enable-experimental-web-platform-features Enabled   - add friend, still asks me 'are you
    human' hmm.
    4. --user-agent="Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/86.0.4240.198 Safari/537.36"   - add friend,
still asks me 'are you human' hmm.
    5. --user-agent="Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/122.0.6261.85 Safari/537.36"   - add friend,
still asks me 'are you human' hmm.
    6. I deleted all Parameters except Parameters=--user-data-dir="%Profile%" in 360Loader.ini   - add friend, still asks me 'are you human' hmm.

In Serpent 52 from 2023, when I try to add friend, adds friend OK and does NOT ask me 'are you human', good.

Is there something I can do in 360Chrome v13.5, so when I try to 'Add Friend' in Discord - NOT to show me the 'are you human' Pop-up?

  9. For users who open @hotmail/@outlook email via Serpent, tested on Serpent from 2023, about:config > general.useragent.override.live.com:
    Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:63.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/63.0   - no, can't open login page
    Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:64.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/64.0   - OK, can open login page via Google, can't open via microsoft.com

In order to avoid this message: "You are trying to login from different device, provide recovery email or phone for code verification", for my 2023
    Serpent I decided to use:
    general.useragent.override.live.com = Mozilla/5.0 (%OS_SLICE% rv:94.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/94.0
Is this a good UA string to use for stable @hotmail login?
If you think this UA string can be improved, feel free to reply.
