  1. That it did, lol. I do read *EVERY* post in this thread - despite migrating to Chromium Forks over the years.
  2. Really does not mean a dang thing. I personally find the browser "padlock" 'system' more of a NUISANCE than a 'feature' that "saves me" from dark crevices I would otherwise fall into. https://www.ipswitch.com/blog/https-and-a-padlock-does-not-mean-a-website-is-secure
  3. Agreed, same here. So far (knock on wood), I can still do EVERYTHING on XP. But the writing is on the wall, that "window" is closing fast.
  4. Because you are on XP. I just IGNORE this when I'm on XP. Others have jumped through hoops of importing "certificates" BUT THIS WILL NOT SOLVE THIS COMPLETELY (on XP), so I don't bother with these "imported" certificates. Others that do use those updated certificates may chime in.
  5. I download all of my extensions from here - https://www.crx4chrome.com/ I've "never" actually installed via Chrome Web Store. There are some extensions that convert the Chrome Web Store's "install" to a "download" instead, I don't recall what they are offhand. Very rarely do I use an extension "as-is" (I remove non-English languages, I break phone-home telemetry, I disable auto-update, I edit js/css, et cetera).
  6. Yikes, what a process! I myself prefer build 1030 and do not use 2022 either. It's always a good idea to keep your own archive of your extension .crx files.
  7. Could you expand on this, please? Thanks in advance.
  8. Possibly. Unsure as of yet. Catsxp will be a "godsend" for those of you that like "dark mode". My primary focus as a backburner project has been to "ungoogle" GDIChromium v96 (there are 458 strings within chrome.dll that need modified one at a time and I cannot fully test until I've performed all 458). I am aware that there is a v103 but I prefer v96 based on performance metrics.
  9. And even MORE IMPORTANTLY (to me at least) is that they also maintained the ability to Disable DirectWrite.
  10. I did not try the 111 beta yet. I was in-process of trying 3.2.4 when you posted. And YES, I can confirm that it is v110 and it DOES work on vanilla Win7 [no extended kernels, no POSReady-whatever-they-call-them-for-7] (I have a strong dislike toward "extended" kernels, but I applaud their role in the tech-savvy community).
  11. No clue. I work in Engineering and follow the "back up often" motto. I've never had them disappear, but I also do not use session-restore.
  12. Previous post was in reply to this one. Forgot to hit "Quote".
  13. Everyone has their own hobbies. I've never been a fan of anything AGT or any of the knockoffs of AGT. In my view, if the television series falls under the category of "reality tv", then it has NOTHING to do with "reality" and I move on to the next channel.
  14. Any of the Chrome Web Store extensions will work for setting up a default new tab. You can also design your own "local" new tab. Just .zip all of your self-made new tab html files to a file called newtab.zip and place it in the same folder as chrome.dll.
  15. That would be a NIGHTMARE for my way of doing things. I block iframes and those "preview" boxes are done via iframes. I would have to bypass several walls of defense just to see the "preview" box. Same goes for when a few members post "nocookie" YouTube liks. And since I have to bypass several walls of defense, I just move on and consider the topic not worth my time - which "most" of the time is an accurate assessment.
  16. Agreed! I had to internet-search this one a good dozen times or so before it finally "sunk in" and MSFN posts that used it were always "confusing" until it FINALLY "sunk in". https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/tldr-meaning-acronym/
  17. Agreed! I often feel that MSFN could do itself wonders towards the future if it followed this same approach. Less true "today" than six months ago, but still "true".
  18. I followed from a distance and "slept since then". I've kind of "lost faith" in the UXP Platform. I still keep the fingers crossed though. Maybe that makes me an "agnostic" regarding UXP?
  19. I'm over there also. But kinda rarely log in anymore. Several of us joined there when MSFN posted a gigantic sprawling banner threatening to shut down if donations didn't pour in.
  20. Because it's coupled in with the same context of YouTube.
  21. lol, took a minute or so to realize what "PH" stood for. Hilarity Ensues.
  22. https://media.tenor.com/o39EarauyJYAAAAC/palm-face.gif
  23. I'd REMOVE those registry entries despite "coming with" 98 and ME. I'd REMOVE any and all Java registry entries - whether they "came with" 98 or ME or not. I'd REMOVE any and all Java folders - whether they "came with" 98 or ME or not.
  24. You could also try this -- https://www.java.com/en/download/uninstalltool.jsp I've never tried it - but I've also never had such an issue as you setup is having.
