  1. That itself is a USA issue. We have politicians that think an 8yr old should be able to walk into a doctor's office and request a sex change operation without parental consent. Pertaining to this topic - Is the 8yr old that wants the sex change "mental"? Or is the 70yr old politician that wants the 8yr old to make that decision "mental"? These are the "debates" that go in in the USA. It's sad, in my opinion. Because we have TEACHERS in this country that then argue that if an 8yr old can make these decisions, then a 12yr old can consent to sexual acts with the teacher. You see why there is no "meat" to this thread and it's reduced to "rubbish"? It's because MSFN is not the place to be discussing circumcision and at what age, or "consent" and at what age. It's not like Mental Health is only OCD, ADHD, and Asperger's.
  2. We all need a hobby.
  3. As others have stated, it's the "Funny Farm". Not all forums have these sections. We could argue until we are blue in the face on whether these sections should even exist or not. I'm actually NOT a fan of their existence! But at least "this thread" unfolding the way it did is better than dozens (plural times ten) of "blog-like" copy-and-paste articles plastering the forum, as I'm sure you have witnessed here at MSFN.
  4. It's different here in the USA. SOMETHING is different. I don't know what it is. Nor do you. I don't really even think that the "experts" really know. OUR news media (here in the US) always always always blames "violent video games" AND "mental health" - neither has "statistical backing", but both get "blamed" nonetheless. REALITY is that SOMETHING is different HERE IN THE USA. https://www.americanprogress.org/article/debunking-myths-the-gun-lobby-perpetuates-following-mass-shootings/ <excerpt> The United States has the highest level of gun violence across developed nations, with a gun homicide rate 26 times greater than that of peer nations. This number is even higher among young Americans, who experience a gun homicide rate 49 times greater than that of other developed nations. A 2015 research study examining 226 men who committed or attempted to commit a mass shooting found that only 22 percent could be categorized as mentally ill. In 2021, researchers found that only 8 percent of people who perpetrate mass shootings have a history of documented psychotic symptoms. <excerpt>
  5. Westerns? That's the first time I've ever heard any correlation to Westerns! Maybe Terminator or Rambo or some "shoot 'em up" video game. But Westerns?
  6. I guess I for one am fully "aware" of this topic regardless of which month the calendar has us in. Britney Spears Kirsten Dunst Jim Carrey Robin Williams Miley Cyrus If you watch the news throughout the year, not just in May, this topic comes up ALL THE TIME. Public school or movie theater or mall shooting - two topics will saturate the news outlets for weeks -- 1) gun control, and 2) mental health
  7. I for one am not really sure of just "what" the topic was "expected" to unfold into - all MSFN members publicly declaring their "condition" and providing a full list of "meds" ???
  8. As if it really matters? What's the point in ANYBODY "correcting" others on such TRIVIAL matters? To prove ones self as "always right, never wrong"? I say that to ALL who "correct" others here at MSFN because that is why so many feel that MSFN is a "toxic environment" - it only "matters" in a "I have to be always right" universe. My two cents, my OPINION. "Opinions are like butts. Everybody has one, doesn't mean everybody wants to hear them." As far as being on-topic, I have to ask if "always right, never wrong" is a mental disorder? waka waka waka
  9. They're there. waka waka waka, that one fit right in! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peoples_Temple
  10. Plus 8 months to the day. So I'm rounding up and calling it 10 years. Not that "this" post was of any more use than the "bump" post.
  11. They ALWAYS do! Not sure what "forum rule" we are up to, but add one - NEVER announce your departure, JUST LEAVE, that way you're not a "liar" when or if you do return. We had somebody publicly announce his departure in the XP antivirus forum, three days later he was still here and still claiming to "leave". Not the first incident, there's been at least half a dozen of these in the last six months or so alone. Public cry for attention?
  12. I haven't had a phone since 2001 !!! No land line !!! No mobile !!! I've been using Google Voice ever since, my "phone" needs are free (okay, I obviously have to have internet access). It's also why I cannot use anything but Chromium Forks. Google Voice used to work in BNav and Mypal - it hasn't for over two or three years and I don't see functionality EVER returning to BNav, Mypal, NM27, NM28, St52, or St55. EVER. Around here, you can't so much as get your hair cut without the salon asking for a phone number. I tell them that my phone number is "zero". They pause and wait for me to ramble off more numbers, I tell them "I don't own a phone, that makes my phone number ZERO." I've had auto parts stores claim they cannot sell me auto parts or accept used oil recycling without a phone number, I ask to speak with the manager to show me that policy IN WRITING. The manager some how miraculously finds a way to get the cash register system to "work" without entering a PHONE NUMBER. If you think telemetry in a web browser is something to be concerned about, just think of all the DATA linked to your PHONE NUMBER, which in turn is linked to YOU. Don't get me wrong, I don't NOT (double negative, lol) own a phone on account of "privacy rights" and that telemetry/data, I just have ZERO use for the d#mn thing to be "tied to my hip" all day. Mobile phones are an ADDICTION, plane and simple. Those of you ADDICTED to your phone, I bet you hear it ringing in your sleep, don't you, lol. Or can't so much as go 10 minutes without reaching for it. People often CONFUSE my reasons for NOT owning a phone. They ASSUME that I cannot afford one - I can. They make all sorts of ASSUMPTIONS - sure, I guess some are sort of correct. But the biggest reason I don't own a phone? Because I find them to be the RUDEST invention ever made! And I guarantee you that you just made an ASSUMPTION when reading that! Sure, mobile phone users standing in the checkout lane while talking on their phone is RUDE BEHAVIOR - but that is not what I am referring to. When people call you, if you don't answer within three rings, they accuse you of "screening your calls" - RUDE on the part of the caller making that ASSUMPTION, a real LIFE is not glued to a phone. If you don't respond to a text within "minutes", the ONE-SIDED conversation escalates into ASSUMING you are "mad at them and ignoring their texts" - RUDE on the part of the person sending the text for making that ASSUMPTION. When a phone rings, the caller expects the callee to drop EVERYTHING, that NOTHING the callee is doing is EVER more "important" than the MEANINGLESS conversation about to take place! I could go on. Phones are RUDE. And more often than not, it's the person doing the calling that is being RUDE, not the person LIVING A LIFE and delaying a response until a time that is CONVENIENT for them. I haven't had a phone since 2001 !!! It's the singlemost important decision I have ever made as far as IMPROVING the Quality of Life that I live.
  13. Hmm. I cannot get Widevine to play any videos either. I've never actually tried until today so I may have to spend a few days researching.
  14. Can you .zip these and PM me with the .zip file? My Widevine here at work is version 4.10.2652.0 and does not work in 360Chrome v13.5 (I can get test pages to indicate I have Widevine installed, but the demo page video will not play).
  15. My versions disable Widevine but can be enabled. I'd have to review to indicate that process. For your Humming Own version, can you update Widevine via: chrome://plugins/
  16. Mee two. Wee're nott riting boooks hear. Eye four won willl nott loose iny sleeep overseaing typohs ear hat MSFN.
  17. If I counted correctly, we need 15 more to make it to 10 pages.
  18. We will add one after recent posts elsewhere on MSFN - New Rule - Never revive posts older than 1 month unless the new post will be useful to members other than yourself. Basically ask yourself before posting, "Is this post me talking to myself or will others gain knowledge from this post?"
  19. Agreed. I myself dislike old threads being "hoarded" on the server and revived later. But it would be a full time job to keep track of which ones should stay and which ones should go and which one was just revived with "nothing". It's all over the place here at MSFN. Here's one to kind of laugh at -- https://msfn.org/board/topic/66361-what-not-to-remove-for-some-programs/page/13/ 1 month between consecutive posts. Then 2 weeks. Then 4 weeks. Then 1 month. Then 5 months. Then 1 year. Then 1 year. Then 1 year. Then 3 years. And that's just on Page 13. But who is to say that this nLite topic is no longer useful to new arrivals? Here's one with a 2 month gap, a 7 month gap, another 2 month gap, a 1 year gap, then a 3 year gap -- https://msfn.org/board/topic/24563-what-is-wihu/ Granted, those are some VERY OLD posts. I didn't want to hunt all day to find if one or two MSFN Members are reviving old posts. All I did was a Google "site:msfn.org" search for "1yr later".
  20. It's kind of a self-comparing benchmark. What do you get with NM27 or NM28 or St52 or St55 or BNav, for example? On Win10, I run Marmaduke Ungoogled v113 and it scores twice as high with the same network speeds as 360Chrome v13.5. It doesn't "feel" twice as fast, but I prefer to run whatever browser can quantitatively score the highest and take "feelings" out of the equation.
  21. Forum Rule #9 - 9. Do not bash old topics when a member has made it active again; it's been made active for a good reason: to answer an unanswered question, or to bring up new information. It does not need to be closed or deleted. I'm not really a "fan" of old topics being made new again, but there is nothing coherently "wrong" with making old topics active again.
  22. Corporate Policy strictly forbids Win11 so I can only test this in Win10. Open "Settings" and go to the "Storage" section. About half way down, you will see a link in blue - "Change where new content is saved". Click that link and see if this dialog helps your issue.
