  1. To be honest I don't have any requirments right now. I have no color scheme or size requirments. Except that the final logo should be high quality when I purchase it so that I can resize it and so on to fit any advertising I need. Right now I have new website samples being made as well. But I haven't chosen a color scheme just yet. So the creativity is wide open at this point.
  2. We actually have thousands of dollars going out already. But we also have a budget. I'm trying to ask friends for help. (Just as I have done for many others.) So that the money that is invested does not get wasted too quickly. The marketing firm we are going through has given us a quote on designing a logo for us... but the quote is very high.
  3. Hey Everyone, Long time no see! some of you may remember me and I'm sure some of you don't. I'm looking for some skilled / creative graphics artists to help create a Logo for my new software company. I will pay at least $100 to anyone who creates a logo I end up using. The amount depends on how much we like it and how much we can afford. But also this will open doors for us to possibly use the invested money through you as well for other graphical needs. Of course you are the graphic designer... so if you feel we should pay you more then by all means quote me a price and I will see if it fits our budget. But I am hoping that with the help I have done in the past here that others may want to help me as well. The new company name is: IT techware The type of software we will be offering is basically going to be marketed as a Virtual Technician. It's a program I have been working on for many years. We need a logo to use for the company. Something that we will be able to use on all of our advertiseing. It will basically be the face for the company. Coloring theme would be the colors Green Blue and White. But it doesn't need to use all of those colors. I have allready picked up an investor and a marketing firm to help me market the software. If anyone here has any ideas on ways to help me market this product please let me know as well. If you have any connections with review sites, magazines, radio and so on it would be a great help! I know there is some of you in here. It would be really great to find some graphic artists in here willing to help me. I think this new software will be a huge success and I will need talented graphic designers I can trust. The logo is only the beginning. Thanks MSFN! You have done a lot of great things for me! P.S. For every logo we even consider using I will give the designer a free 1 yr membership to the program.
  4. Nice find. I know that if I ever add the functionality to PowerPacker or we ever add the functionality to WinSetupFromUSB GUI that it would be added in a way that it actually checks the hashes of each file against the main OS.
  5. The default method for WinSetupFromUSB with GUI is probably your best all round method in my opinion. Especially the BETA right now. Although if your computer has a lot of RAM the RAM Loaded ISO method is very fast. The only downside to the RAM loaded method is the wait time before you can install since it needs to load it all into RAM. I prefer fast but as unattended as possible. So the default method suits me best. I can quickly get the install started and walk away. The method of booting into PE first has it's advantages as well though. If you need to do any prepairation of the drive first... like backup files and so on you can do this in PE then launch the setup. Using PE from USB is the best method for PE since it is so much faster. Basically they all have their benefits. The answer really lies with what your computer needs are.
  6. Actually you make a good point. Did you take a look at the site? There is a bit more information there as well. I'll update my post with more info later. I was in a bit of a rush typing it. But basically what it does is allows you to schedual a complete maintenance with every program you would like to use. Unlike the current method that most people use. Most people install many programs and setup the built in schedualing capabilities of those programs (if available). Downsides to that is there isn't a way to schedule each program to run right after each other. Or some programs cannot be automated. If you are like me... you take care of many computer systems in many different locations. In the old method I would need to actually visit each and every one of these computers and check the status of each program to see if there were any issues. If I were to do that I would not have enough time to take care of a sixth of the computers I take care of. But with APlusMaint each computer has a log file created on the APlusMaint site in realtime as the maintenance is running. It also attempts to scan each log file created by many programs to detect issues and notify you of them. The logs are then color coded depending on the status. If any issues were detected it is highlighted in red. So for instance if you log into your account on aplusmaint.net you would see a list of every computer in your account. If there are any computers in red you would know to check it's latest log file which would also be in red. You can look through the log and see why it is in red. So if Malwarebytes found 5 infected files you could then look at the real Malwarebytes log file which is attached to the APlusMaint log. So the bottom line is it makes it very simple to centerally maintain many systems using your favorit maintenance utilities. It's also great for people who do not know how to take care of their own home systems... or do not have the time to manually do everything needed to maintain the systems. On top of all of this the site also allows computer techs to add a secondary Terms and Conditions pertaining to their company with extra services that they offer and they can mark the price up on aplusmaint. This way they make much more money from the people they signup and aplusmaint handles the contract for you. For instance if you provide discounted labor charges for any future computer work on that computer you would make a much bigger profit by marking up the price and offering your extra services. It is a great opprotunity for new Computer Techs trying to start a business because it helps them get contracts. Because contracts are what keep a computer tech in business. Someone with a business which needs many computers serviced usually ends up paying a lot of money to have their computers maintained. Many computer techs charge $75 per hour or more where I live. So if they were to come to the business and spend 3 hours or more a week to perform maintenance that could become VERY expensive. APlusMaint eliminates most needs to have to go to the place to perform the maintenance therefore giving you much more time to create a larger income elsewhere. The more people you signup for APlusMaint the large your percent margin grows for the amount of profit you make. Trust me I had to brainstorm how to release a program like this without ruining most computer techs jobs... plus make sure computer techs can profit from it. Plus of course I have to make a profit too... because of all of the time I put into it.
  7. This is my first subscription type program. I have made many free tools for everyone around the globe which carry 5 star ratings. This APlusMaint program is great and is the only complete preventive maintenance solution I have ever seen. The way I created this program other computer technicians can utilize it to help them get business contracts. My biggest fear when I made this program is a utility like this could really put a damper on how much money computer techs make. If this program was freely available to everyone then the world wouldn't have as much of a need for computer techs when it comes to maintaining systems. I myself lost lots of money after I made this program because for a few years during the development I was freely installing it on many of my customers computers. It worked so well those customers were no longer having the issues I normally got paid to fix. I welcome any ideas any of you may have and I will continue to add more scripts to automate many more maintenance utilities. Thanks for all of the support I have gotten from msfn over the years! A+ Maintenance This is a Complete Preventive Maintenance for Computer Systems. It will automate many different programs on a scheduled basis. It logs everything it does and posts it to the users account on www.APlusMaint.net. This program is very useful for Home users, Businesses, and Technicians. Home users can have their computers maintained as if they had an in home technician. Businesses can save time and money by having APlusMaint simplifying their computer maintenance. Computer Technicians can maintain many more computers, make much more money, and keep their clients happy. Plus anyone can be an affiliate and make money from APlusMaint as well. As an affiliate you can change the price of the program and input your own terms to the program so that you can offer extra services like computer labor discounts to your local customers and so on. The opprotunities are endless! I have created many useful tools for computer technicians which have been recognized in magazines worldwide and carry 5 star ratings. APlusMaint is a project I have been working on for 4 years. It is always an ongoing project that I will be improving constantly. Each user account has the ability to contact me with ideas and report any problems. If you are a computer technician and have ideas how APlusMaint can be even better and help your business just let me know and I will do my best to implement it. Here is a special 30 % off Promo Code you can use at www.APlusMaint.net to show my respect to MSFN.ORG ! Promo Code: MSFN *IMPORTANT* As of right now APlusMaint is only ready for use on English systems.
  8. Your mirror to download the program is filled with porn. In a work environment it's kinda embarassing to download something and having porn pop up.
  9. Yeah I had the same issue with grub when I tried to create a boot.ini. But when I just create a boot.ini with plop it works. I did not have any ntldr files on my Windows 7. I have no idea why it doesn't work with grub but it works perfectly with plop. Delete your test files and use my tool and you will see it should work on your system too.
  10. The only thing I suppose is needed to modify BCD is the timeout which the tool allready does. The boot.ini file should be perfectly fine. Most of my testing was done in a Windows 7 environment.
  11. I think I just need to make sure I have the tool look for any existing boot.ini files on the hard drives and allow the user to select the correct boot.ini if found. Which is how I have it working in an environment of 2000,xp,2003. I just need to implement this same behavior in Vista/2008/Win7 and i think it will cure the problem.
  12. Because on PLoPs website the reccomended using a boot.ini file for Vista/Win7. It is a simple method of adding PLoP to the boot menu. In certain cases win7/vista will still use a boot.ini file. It was much easier for me to use a boot.ini file then BCD because I allready made the coding structure for boot.ini when I made compatability for XP. All I can think is in this case he allready had a multiboot system and his boot.ini did not reside on the Vista/Win7 boot drive. So my tool created a different boot.ini. I may need to make sure my program allways looks for an existing boot.ini first. Which is what it does in 2000,xp,2003 systems. But I was under the impression in vista/win7 the boot.ini could only reside on the vista/win7 boot drive. which I think I was incorrect when it comes to multiboot drives with other OSes.
  13. It's kinda dumb when people call any tweak stupid. Who cares if you've seen the tweak before. Do people think every post is meant for them? BTW... I bet a lot of people do not frequent every site on the net either. So if this tweak was not posted on msfn how is it spam? It's stuff like this which makes people NOT post any useful information because they feel like they are walking on a fine line all the time. Gosh has helped tons of people with things. Why the hatred towards him posting a tip you've allready heard of? To be honest I saw this tip on a few other sites but never read the threads. I decided to read about it here because it was posted by gosh. I have read a lot of good tips from him. Thanks, Gosh
  14. It's a bug which shows up only if the program is placed in the same disk and partition, which is being prepared. Going to fix it in a few hours and post beta4 on the first page. Thank, nice catch, it's been like this since the first versions of the program and there were no reports for it. I guess very few people place the program on the USB disk they are preparing for installation Yeah I knewit was an odd setup I was doing. but my brother had the win7 files on his USB allready and I just remoted in and did the winsetupfromusb to his drive. But the winxp install files were actually on another disk. I guess because I allready did the win7 files it still had the issue.
  15. Here is the log from adding the WinXP Setup to the USB. I no longer had access to the Win7 log. WinSetupFromUSB.txt
  16. I'll have to get ahold of my brother. I was remoted into his laptop when I was trying to create a USB setup for him. I'm sure I still have the log there. I know he is running Windows 7 on his laptop. I do remember running WinSetupFromUSB as administrator as well. Not sure if this could be the issue... but He had the Windows 7 files on his usb hard drive in a folder called Win7. I just pointed to that folder then had it install them to the root of his drive (The same Drive). But his Windows XP was on a disk. I tried adding it after windows 7. But with both I noticed the boot files were only found in the folder with winsetupfromusb.
  17. Hmmm odd. I suppose that could be the issue. It hasn't been tested in a system with many partitions. But I know in Vista/Windows 7 it will install the boot.ini on the root of the system drive. Maybe since you are dual booting another OS it does not add the boot information correctly. Could you check to see if all of those files I mentioned are placed in the places I said they should be? That would help me figure out what may have went wrong. Thanks
  18. Windows XP is basically Windows 2000 with some added features. So you should easily transition to XP. You can even put it into Windows Classic Theme and it functions a lot like 2000. I am a big fan of Windows 7 as well. It does add a lot of new features and it functions very well. Unlike Windows Vista which is garbage. I do reccommend a clean install though. Windows Upgrades don't really give you the best performance. It's kinda like getting an old car and fixing up the body but not working on the engine much. It may look new but the insides aren't working too well.
  19. I just used Beta 3... didn't notice beta 4. But for some reason all of the boot files were not placed on the root of my usb drive. They were placed in the same folder as winsetupfromusb. I tried to make a usb stick with win7... then I attempted to do the same with XP. Neither method placed the files on the root of the usb drive. I did have a menu.lst file on the root. It also had a reference to a usb tag file... but that tag file was not on the root either.
  20. You should have a folder in your Windows Directory "PLoP" In there should be 2 files. You should have a boot.ini file on the root of your c drive now. It does not add anything to bcdedit except change the timeout. When you restart the computer you should get a choice for: "Boot From USB" All I can think is to make sure you run it as Administrator.
  21. I figured that was your reasoning. I had to make a decision like that back when I wrote powerpacker. I decided to go the route of just putting them all on the root. I figure in most cases people will use the same driverpacks for each OS. However I don't deal with Windows 2000 multiboot stuff anymore. I do think that the XP-2003 driverpacks are the same though... and in most cases I think 2000 drivers would utalize the same as well. On a USB stick the more space you save by preventing duplicate files the better. It's not much of a deal with multiboot cd/dvds because of iso optimization. The few cases where users would use different drivers they could allways modify their OSes to place their driverpacks in OEM\2000, OEM\2003, and so on. Or that could also be built into WinSetupFromUSB automatically as an option. [ ] Seperate driverpacks from different OSes? I would definatly like to help script WinSetupFromUSB if you'd welcome the help. I don't have the time for coding like I used to. But I'm in the coding mood latley. Of course we'd have to keep in good contact and let each other know which areas we are working on so that we don't code the same stuff. A lot of the scripting for WinSetupFromUSB I'm sure is simular to PowerPacker or RVM Integrator. I am sure I have code in them that would be utalized very well in WinSetupFromUSB. As I have said from the beginning. This USB setup stuff intrigues me. It opens so many doors where cd/dvd multiboot disks are limited.
  22. I think the OEM folder should be moved to the root of our USB Sticks. This way if we have XP Pro and XP Home on our sticks they can both use the OEM folder instead of having there own OEM folders. This would save about 500 MB or so each time the DriverPacks would be duplicated. In Windows XP PowerPacker I do this. This may lessen the code in WinSetupFromUSB because it will not have to modify presetup.cmd because it will allready find the OEM folder at the root of the stick.
  23. If you still have accsee to boot into windows it would be great if you could test this: http://www.msfn.org/board/release-siginets...er-t140412.html
  24. Support Added For WinVista, Win2008 and Win7 GRUB4DOS Removed.
