  1. how can I solve this issue on Serpent 52 ?

the sound is distorted in Gecko mode then I activate the Firefox mode to get it right.

the problem is that in some streaming sites the video miniatures are not displayed with Firefox mode activated.

I can only see the title of videos but the small video miniatures are missing.

might try it via a VM to check for any dodgy stuff, it may be sending data or something to a webserver or whatever!

that could be the cause why they are making a browser in english for international users.....

anyway I don't care because when you download Android apps you get to share a bunch of personal things. this is not the cause for which I don't use W10

I've been using it as my main browser for a couple of months now and honestly if you can get past the chinese setup, it is the most up to date browser you can get.

    [Open Chrome 360 Discussion Topic]

I have downloaded both versions although the 360SE is 100% chinese and full of advertising banners just like the QQ web browser.

I feel sorry for the chinese people who have to deal with slow internet speed, censored sites and spied on 24/h by the government.

I had to download the exe files through W7 because none of my browsers were able to do so.

to begin I have uncked all cases before installing it because chinese software is often full of spyware and malware

now the verdict, I must admit it's the best browser I have tested in a long while, very smooth and does support google store apps...

no other spyware program got installed to my knowledge but I would be cautious to use this chinese browsers to make purchases online :dubbio:

a few days ago I was about to download the new Yandex version but I don't think I should give it a second chance... LOL

  4. the best browser is the one that has multi process function enabled and the one that supports official site addons.

Firefox52 is still good but more and more sites are not displayed correctly anymore

Serpent52 doesn't support most addons even if you manually install them in (Serpent55 unreliable)

Centaury52 and Newmoon28 are pretty much the same thing, with my main hardware (AMD BE quad) when you open-close too many apps it gets frozen at around 30% of CPU usage

in short, you cannot live with a single of these ''old'' up to date browsers because you may want to use FF52 to test some sites that do not run on them

AFAIK e10s/multiprocess only works on FF and Serpent, not NM; trying to enable it on NM just crashes it. But @roytam1 is customizing NM by locking some e10s-related preferences, so inadvertently installing the "wrong" UOC patch from @looking4awayout won't crash the browser.

it doesn't crash here it just has no real effect but I admit I once saw  2 opened processes in the taskbar manager.

It's a real Killer-Trap that different browsers share the same profile, without any warning.

the NM28 doesn't share the same profile as FF52 however the 47 it does.

I won't try that crap 47 version anymore but fortunately my FF52 profile was not deleted and I could restore my session

Now my first alternative is the russian made Basilisk fork (executable not portable) and when I need to do specific tasks I use the genuine FF on W7... the performance difference is like day and night.

the Serpent 55 another crap browser sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't for no apparent reason.

Thanks, I'd forgotten about the uninstallation complication with that add-on!
I've never bothered to remove it on my Firefox, but it is disabled.
It actually says that it can't be verified, not that it's incompatible.
I don't think it's doing any harm as it is.
    :)

the extensions.ini file is clear now, there is no need to delete the registry key.

thanks for your input anyway @VistaLover

IIRC the Surface and Windows Phones started coming out around that time....

M$ just wanted to get people to buy their failed Lumia phones thus the crap UI and missing start button or classic startup menu.

time has proven they were wrong because they ended up switchig over to Andoid OS.... and now Chrome based browser too

Disclaimer: Force-enabling e10s when incompatible extensions are installed and active may introduce some instability to the browser behaviour; YMMV... Inside your Firefox ESR profile directory there should be an .ini file called extensions.ini ; with the browser closed, open it with a proper text editor and check whether a section labelled [MultiprocessIncompatibleExtensions] exists (if yes, it should contain a list of incompatible addon IDs; you can use the Extensions section of about:support page to identify the offending addons and you should probably disable them while conducting multiprocess experiments in your browser)...

    Cheers :)

    I have found this.

    [MultiprocessIncompatibleExtensions]
    Extension0={20a82645-c095-46ed-80e3-08825760534b}

about:support shows it refers to Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant :dubbio:

You clearly have completely missed out the point of this patch, and I am not interested to continue replying to your posts. I have been taught that trolls must not be fed.

didn't miss anything out I was just testing it to see if I could gain some performance.

I thought you wanted people to test your patch and then hear about their result but if you are rude and get mad in this small comunity you have a serious problem

so it's not a matter of money and you use a Penitum 3 just for fun...

I trow away two computers better than yours a few days ago and I have more hardware lying around... I could ship it to you if necessary but with this kind of attitude forget it.

Short answer: The drive will almost certainly work. However, NTFS file system performance won't be optimal unless your partition is "aligned" on a 4K boundary.

short answer. I don't recommend the purple drives for home storage and Acronis WD Align is the official tool to do the alignment.
