  1. I believe that you can't go wrong with putting everything in quotes. Correct me if im wrong
  2. Would you be talking about this background: http://people.ucsc.edu/~gteng/wallpapers/S..._and_Sporty.jpg Image Size: 1280x1024
  3. I think the answer lies in the title of the forum catagory thing...."Windows Post-Install Wizard (API)"
  4. If you use %systemdrive%\Install\Installfile.exe it will look for the files under the drive you installed windows on
  5. Check that you hit save after adding them all, and they also might be on a different page....
  6. As long as you specify the proper path...the problem with that is on different computer the cd has a different letter assignment...so you'd have to run a bit of code that would find your cd and save the letter a variable..then you can just use the variable as the path of the cd $cd$:\wpi.cmd
  7. Oh..woops I only clicked the latest post icon thing and skipped the whole beginning
  8. Ya I've learnt quite alot in the past week its crazy! ...not that im complaining
  9. Ya lol me too....I don't remeber what it was that led me to the unattened guide but..here I am Just a question..has anyone actually finished a unattended cd? I really dont see a end in sight lol, I can see myself the rest of my life just sitting at my computer building my Super Human CD!!! lol
  10. Please don't tell me you "guess and checked" to arrive at that hex code
  11. I have Media Centre on two cds..one with the regular XP Pro SP2 and the other with the media centre files in a directory called 'cmpnents' on the root of the cd. If I cut down the size via Gosh's guide...the one where you install onto your hardrive and copy just those files then can I copy the cmpnents directory on the root of my new cd because I have all this extra space now? Usualy it would ask for the second cd, but now it should just install because it reads the directory on the root like the other cd right? I'm using nlite and in the remove components dialogue it gives you the option of removing the media centre compent which it says are in the directory 'cmpnents\mediactr' so wouldnt this backup my theory of coying the folder over the root work? Anyone who has done this or know anything about this could help...it would be greatly appreciated
  12. Well what is the volume TSH? Windows is done installing by now so it wouldnt be the windows cd right?
  13. Well im asuming it shows an error dialogue...hence error Edit: the syntax is infobox [message text] [title] Its in the help
  14. Check http://unattended.msfn.org for tips on what switchs to use and you can always search these forums for what type of insaller/switchs to use. If you use the lates version of WPI it will allow you to input the programs through the wpi.hta file so you dont have to manually do all the code..unless you find that faster
  15. Just to clarify..if you are copying your xp cd contents then you need to create the $OEM$ folder in the root directory of your cd...so if you copy the contents of your cd to C:\XPCD then C:\XPCD\$OEM$ would be the folder with the files you want copied over during the windows install. In the cd root directory there should be a folder i386, C:\XPCD\i386 this is where you place your winnt.sif file. oh and I recomend finalizing your disc before you using it, I dont know if this it will not work otherwise but judging by your experience , it is a RW so you can always erase it
  16. This is really annoying..everytime I click and bring the virtual pc into the active window Windows Media Player 10 pops up and starts playing whatever was the last media clip.. Extremly annoying...more so then the whole firefox caret/cursor thing Any help would again be appreciated!
  17. Ok I must be be really tired right now because I have no idea what you mean...is there a program shortcut.exe on my computer? I searched but didnt find one
  18. Ok but you can use net user to rename non built in users? I know that you can rename built in accounts using computer managment..is that not connected with net.exe at all?
  19. No the installer can go anywhere you want aslong as the path in the batch file points to it. I recomend putting all your post-install programs in one folder..unless you have lots in which case you can sub catagorize them.
  20. But how do you get them to appear in the order you want as oppsed to alphabetical without having to rename them with 01, 02 ,03.....
